I don't want this game to be over. I'm so gonna miss everyone, Leonardo especially, and then I can curl up on my couch with a box of chocolate and listen to this. :P

I bought the normal edition because I was so burned by the first game which I DID get the special edition of. Now I kinda wish I did go for the "Black editon".
I certainly wouldn't mind that Ezio statue. :)

The music inside the Villa reminds me of Mass Effect 1 a LOT! It almost sounds alike.
"Though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil, for I am the evilest motherf*cker in the valley"
"First come smiles, then comes lies. Last is gunfire"
But even if I did, I would still get the normal version and not think about what I missed, except the 3 extra levels.
About the music, I just like a couple of them, not all of them.

And yes.
I'll see about securing a Black edition, provided there are still some in circulation.

Hmm, I remember seeing a extra level on AC2 Uplay section I dont remember if its one of the "special editions" or a completely new one.
These levels will be as DLC sooner or later.
Which kinda leads me to.. Ezio is truly a beautiful character. I don't wanna give anything away, but the final look of him when you've.. done stuff.. and.. yeah. It's just.. there's a reverance for the time period in there, with just the right amount of deliberate stylization on the artists' part, and he looks so damn great. I guess the emotional bond plays a part too, his role in all of this. I'm really fond of him.
The same way AC1 opened up a love for that era and for names and places and a look I didn't even know I could love, AC2 has done it to this era, the italian language and the period look and air. Simply the name Ezio Auditore Di Firenze I now find awesome to the point of head explosions and confetti shooting out.

I said to myself, either Black Edition or regular, no way I am buying the White edition its a pure rip off.
But seriously though, if you can afford it and you know you still have money for other "purchases" be it whatever, then go for it, if you are REALLY into this game and the franchise obviously.
I still find Altair being more badass though, if only Ubisoft was smart enough to come up with moves like disarm, jump up to higher leadges, double hidden blades...etc. in the first place but they didnt.
But interms of personality and "mystery" to a character, Altair is my favorite between the two.
But there is no doubt Ezio's outfit is unique and very elegant and still has the AC "look", I do love those beautiful engravings on the armor and clothings though and just fits so well into the old italian era in AC2, and on top of that, various dyes which is awesome (I got the wetlands grey primary hood and such).
Lets just see what type of a character Ubisoft makes for AC3, I bet it will be as good as Ezio or better.
For some reason, in this game when Desmond has the bleeding effect outside of the Animus and we follow Altair briefly that's when I realised I do like Altair. But yeah. :)
I also appreciate Ezio's nature, and his role here. I would probably best describe it as a more intense Zorro really, even though that sounds undeliberately silly. :D But still, yeah, he's really a man of the people, and you feel loved (at least partially) for what you are doing, and I really like that. In AC1 everyone fucking hates you and you kinda hate everybody back, but here you are propelled forward not only by your personal motivation, but by characters that you feel for and want to help.
But that said, I certainly see how one could prefer Altair, and I'm hoping and almost betting that Ubi will do what it takes to differentiate whoever comes next, aswell, as to not just override whatever we got so far. I kinda hope they don't do japan though.. I really love the settings in these games because they are so atypical for games. Another ninja game would be horribly disappointing at this point. The Assassins Tomb in this game all hint at awesome eras though and I hope it's more in line with those.

"Though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil, for I am the evilest motherf*cker in the valley"
"First come smiles, then comes lies. Last is gunfire"
And besides, they learned from AC1 on what to make things better so they did it with AC2...but on the AWESOME side, if you got access to Uplay, you can chance outfit anytime to become the ORIGINAL Altair, but the voice will be there, but the sad part is when you have double hidden blade, only the blade that comes from the armlet that Altair has, the other one doesnt have anything nor will a blade show up, unfortenetly.
Ninja swords, throwing shurikens, running on rooftops, fighting samurais, smoke bombs...the setting is perfect for Assassins Creed 3, and I am 100% if they do this it would knock Tenchu series back with big blow.
I would rather see something like Egypt or something even less common like Inca's or Mayan's but no Ninja's please....
"Though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil, for I am the evilest motherf*cker in the valley"
"First come smiles, then comes lies. Last is gunfire"
If it was in Egypt and such then the character would be topless with a golden armless shirt or whatever with a skirt, no thank you, unless he is a westerner or European visitor (The Mummy) then it would get the "approved" seal by me.
Even if they did try and make it in ancient Egypt who would the character be this time, I know he would go after pharaos and such and I LOVE that for sure no doubt but its tricky really, samething with ancient Greece or even Rome.
It would be very interesting to see how they do this, I dont mind during the time era like Sherlock Holmes or Van Helsing though, I like settings like that as well.
But for now, I am focusing on AC2 and hoping Ubisoft delivers like they did with AC2. They need to think what new stuff they can come up with, as usual, the AC teams are tricky to figure out whats next.
I think they commented on it once but I can't recall what the gist was of what they said, but a female protagonist would be interesting too. I dunno if that'd have a bleeding effect on Desmond and make him look funny at Shaun, but for purposes of delivering an engaging historical storyline that would be cool. Female assassin in egypt, that would be interesting. :)
As for attire, I'm sure there's more stuff to pick from than the stereotypical image we have in our heads. I mean I couldn't for the life of me fathom how they'd make the Altair look fit in a 13th century italy, but lo and behold. I think those core design features of the look are much more flexible than we with our feeble human brains can estimate. I trust Ubi's designers to deliver.
Which also really holds as an argument if they do go for japan. I really, really hope they don't, because that's such an oversaturated era in anime and games and comics, I just don't feel the same fascination there as I would with something they truly surprise me with. I couldn't have picked THIS setting out of a hat, and this has ended up totally winning me over and having me fall in love with the architecture, the language, the clothes and even the art to an extent. I've actually spent a fair amount of time in the villa gallery reading about those paintings. Japan could easily become "here we go again..." in comparison.
BUT the last paragraph started with.. argument.. for.. yes. right. I was gonna say that I trust Ubi with this. I trust that if they do japan, they have the sense to know what parts, what motifs we're sick of at this point and go with a decidedly refreshing era, or shining light on a different aspect of it than we're used to. They could probably make something interesting out of it... buuut.. I rather they spent their time on something visually, historically, thematically unique in games, as it is the CREED if you will that they've established so far.

My guess is it will be sometime during the 1800-1900s, kind of like the era of Sherlock Holmes and The Ripper and such, I really like settings like that and it would be awesome to see it, it would be unique for sure.
And yes, I do agree that ancient Japan would be "here we go again", but it is common sense though considering ninjas fit the profile very well as assassins.
But ah well, the AC team is very unique with AC so we have to see what they will do next.
At the minute, it feels a bit directionless and that I'm just doing odd jobs for each random NPC.
I'm going to finish it anyway so perhaps it will improve. Is it just me or is the lipsync and a few of the cutscenes terrible also?

My favorite cutscenes is always with Leonardo, that guy is just so damn awesome and nice and treats you like you are his best friend, great job Ubisoft!
First of all, it's annoying as hell. Trying to stay in a group of people while moving when they often all of a sudden split apart or take of in a different direction is a nuisance. You have to follow this other person, so you can't just stick to one group of people.
What you then do is move from one group to another...IF there is one going in the same direction you need to go! If not, you have to SIT ON A FUCKING BENCH (!) and wait for the next group. So I'm sitting there on a bench waiting for the next group (Oh joy, I just love sitting on a bench..waiting!) and I see a group of monks approaching. So as I wait for them to pass by, I just look the other direction and when I look back again, they've vanished! OMG, fucking piece of shit code!
Then there's another thing that annoys the crap out of me. Every guard in town is after you, having seen you wearing that suit, and all it takes for them not to see you is to sit on a fucking bench! I mean, I know it's a game and all but seriously...This is worse than the Splinter Cell syndrom where you have this bright light on your back and guards from within a feet still can't spot you.
It has had it's moments now and then, so I won't give up yet. But it'd better pick up from here on, otherwise it's going right back where it came from on monday.
