Rocktober!
This is why this game isn't as good as other BF games, because it doesn't require you to work together with you teammates as much. You should absolutely have to rely on your team for resupply.
The game is good though, but I still find the performance pretty disappointing. I even turned down the settings and it still has that sorta slow sluggishness that it does with everything jacked up, so I don't really even know how to explain it. It's not terrible and I'm probably pulling more than 60 frames much of the time, but it's the lack of consistency that I think is getting to me. Going back to COD4 @ an almost steady 125fps feels ridiculously fluid by comparison.
I've heard people with GTX295's complaining. That should tell you something.
Wow. That's horrible. That's on a fucking 4Ghz quad. Frostbite is garbage :(
No wonder this game runs so poorly on consoles, it runs poorly on everything. I fear for BF3 and Medal of Honor.
I played the 360 version a bit and it just feels clunky, have to whack the sensitivity way up near max to make it feel at least ok, but the pc version is superior.
Other than that though the game is awesome even when played in a not high enough framerate. Still sucks that we cant have prone though i feel it's really needed.
Keep an eye on http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-bad... if you want to see what patches and stuff do.
this game features huge maps that can be destroyed to the ground. every every damn tree and every damn wall can be chopped to the ground, features amazing sound with crazy realtime processing etc etc etc
Naturally, doing all of the audio processing in software puts the CPU under some extra strain. Since Xbox360/PS3 has fixed hardware and both have multiple cores available to do many things in parallel, you could say this is only an issue for the PC SKU where we may end up having less cores than on console. In Bad Company, all audio processing is performed sequentially on a single hardware thread regardless of platform. For PC this means that a CPU with a higher frequency will help more than one with more cores. But of course, there are other areas of the game that execute in parallel, so having more than 2 cores will help the game in general. This is an area we're constantly looking to improve and the results of our efforts will show up in future titles.
so i'm sorry, no. this game does have a lot taxing it.
yes, i could do with a bit more AA, less tearing and higher frame rates (360), but hei lot's of candy going on there so people should cut them some slack and stop complaining about it not running 60FPS but 50FPS!
I adore the auto-shotgun, perfect for close quarters when you're a medic.
Oooh, Profound, isn't it?
I recognize the tech gap between these games, but it makes it harder to convince myself to play these games when there are alternatives that look nice and run excessively well. I think I'm still buying it though. I'm having fun despite all of the problems the game has. It is a totally ham-fisted Console port though, so Acert was right. DICE are just taking advantage of our emotions. They're no more dedicated to the platform than Infinity Ward, so they need to stop pretending or STFU.

The F2000 blows too. The rate of fire is awesome but in this game damage wins over ROF almost every time thanks to the wonky accuracy and framerate. Oh, and I love lightweight. I'm never using the red dot.
