Having very few maps in a mp driven game seems to be all the rage these days.

If those 10 maps are all balanced and kept in rotation it will be fine. The problem with most games isn't the number of maps but the quality of them.

Panama Canal and Laguna Presa look awesome.

I'm a little confused how we got to 10 maps, even, when they still list it as 8 officially.

I think two of the maps may be for a smaller game mode only.

I'm sure they'll sell more shortly.

The whole map is available from the start of a conquest map right? It's not the same shit as rush where the map get's bigger?

I just loved getting into a chopper or other vehicle with some mates and flanking the enemy's position and then capture and hold a point...

I just had some good games with Uruk. My favorite part was when I team killed him. That takes skill when there's no team damage. I blew up an objective and building with a tank with him inside.

Two things I hate: No neighbor repairs for vehicles; No helipad repair for helo.

Lame.

Top-down overview of the maps:

And honestly people don't spot enemies enough. It's really annoying. Just press Q, specially snipers. They just keep shooting without spotting anything.

Hahaha I honestly didn't know that man! I allready wondered why sometimes my targets would be marked, I though it had something to do with me keeping them in my view for 5 secs or something...

I'm really worried about the fact that they have no conquest layouts for the majority of the maps. Does this mean there's only 4 conquest maps and 5 rush maps? Scary.

my feelings exactly. i'm spam-spotting everybody. you get a shitload of points like this! specially if you shoot them as well: you'll get points for spotting+kill assist points.

Exactly. Spotting is one of the most important things you can do, because even if you are taken out, your teammates know there is a bad guy there...

I like the spotting system the way it is now. It wasn't that good in BC1, it was shoot the red boxes contest, now as soon as someone leaves the line of sight they disappear very fast. I feared we'd get a spotting system similar to 1943, where it's enough to look at them and they get spotted automatically, that's dumb.

Well there's actually a sniper scope in the game that auto-spots..

I agree. It is better now- you don't have to shoot and give away your position( especially if they are far away). I like sittin' up high and relaying info for my team. Sweet...

There's still quite a bit of shoot the red dot going on here. I've killed many people behind cover thanks to said red dot. That's still a little cheesy.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Includes In-Game DLC Store; Content Available At Launch

http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/52972/Battlefiel...
Is there anything about the game that we haven't talked about that you wanted to add?
One thing that's also very interesting is how we see our customers. We see the game as the first step to a longer experience. We have an in-game store where you get free content or you can buy new content to the game, so it's a very integral part of the game that we will have a long post-launch campaign. I think people will be thrilled to see what's in that already. On day one, you will get some really cool stuff.

Producer Patrick Bach was also quizzed about the PC port:

Looking at console versus PC, since the advent of digital distribution with Steam and broadband becoming more common, it's almost like we're seeing a resurgence in PC gaming. As a developer, is console versus PC really an either-or question, or has it gotten back to the point where you need to develop for all of them?
At DICE, we never really let go of the PC. Bad Company 1 was an exception because we initially designed it to be a console-only game. We got a lot of negative comments about that when we released the game because people asked, "Hey, this is a real Battlefield game. Why aren't you releasing it for PC?" This time around, we decided, yes, let's make Bad Company 2 for the PC so that the audience can enjoy the game as well. We're not taking it lightly and just making a port. We actually have a big PC-focused team just working on the PC version of the game. I think the PC gamers will be amazed with the quality that we get out of the PC. We have DirectX 11 support, we support all the latest sound and graphics, and we even have support for nVidia's 3-D screens, so there's a lot of cool stuff going on when it comes to the PC version.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 launches March 2nd.
Great. Content at launch :( Hopefully all *free*.

I'd like to think it's the equivalent of the Cerberus Network. If it ain't I'd have to seriously reconsider my purchase and that would be a tragedy because it's the only game I can see myself playing until Reach.

There's no way it's going to all be free. Don't set yourself up for disappointment, because believe me, EA will disappoint.
