Just finished it last night, this game is going to be near impossible to be beaten for my GOTY, and almost 2million sold well done!

I thought it ended a bit abruptly but it was an excellent game.

So, I finally got Arkham Asylum, but man... talk about having to make sacrifices.

I traded in LoTR: Conquest, Fallout 3 (which I never even completed), Assassins Creed, Mass Effect - don't worry, I will be keeping the saved data - and I still had to cough up an extra fiver on top of that. This was Gamestation as well; if it had been GAME, it would have been even worse.

But now the baby is mine. I'm about to give it a spin, and can't wait to see how good it really is.

Nah, I don't doubt my decision at all. The only games that I had some doubts about trading in were Mass Effect and Fallout 3, but I only really care about my ME1 save data - which I still have - and I have Oblivion anyway, which I prefer to Fallout 3 (Oblivion's actually my favourite RPG of all time... well, it's up there at the very least).

So no, I don't regret my decision. After 25-30 minutes of playing it, the decision already seems justified. :P

Two hours in, and I'm absolutely loving it.

The first 40-50 minutes were admittedly a bit of a struggle, although I think that is largely down to the fact that I'd already played the demo and so was replaying a lot of stuff which I'd already seen - not to mention that the first half an hour or so acts essentially as a tutorial. But after that first hour, the game is really starting to come into its own. The Riddler's... well, riddles, are extremely creative and - at times - challenging. I've not bothered with some through my desire to progress with the main story, but I shall no doubt come back and try to solve them.

I'm just totally digging the vibe of this game. The Joker is bone chilling at times, as he plays the role of puppeteer absolutely perfectly; you genuinely believe that it is his madhouse and you're just the pawn he is toying with. I can see why all the initial previews shouted "Bioshock", because there is that mysterious, enthralling atmosphere in the game.

So far, so bloody good. I haven't encountered anything amazing plot-wise, but I'm sure that'll change (although I thought Boyle working for the Joker was a nice little twist).

The Scarecrow section that I'm currently in the middle of is awesome, when you open the body bags to see your dead parents. Creepy as hell. Oh, and the platformer-esque section that follows it is brilliant.

Just finished the Bane boss battle. It admittedly took me a few goes to do - guess I'm not as skilled at this as I initially thought! - but it never once felt frustrating. Oh, and Bane getting pwned by the Batmobile? Genius.

I've just done the second Scarecrow section, and it was awesome. The bit where you turn into Bruce Wayne when he was a child, then actually control him was just inspired. It doesn't seem much, but it's scenarios like that which makes Batman: AA rival Bioshock for one of the best atmospheres I've witnessed in a game. Well, this gen anyway.

I just can't put the controller down. Well, that's a lie - I did for about a couple of hours or so - but I've not been this fascinated by a game for a long while.

I just started up the game, wow that extended intro was a very nice touch... Just one question: I just turned of the first chamber with joker gas. There's a room barred by an electric gate and above that room is a riddler tropy.. How do I turn of the electric gates

I just got to the batcave section. Can't remember the last time when a single player game sucked me into the story like this has! I love it !

I know, it's pretty incredible how enthralling Arkham Asylum's story is - it really does suck you in. Another great thing is that I don't know a lot about the Batman universe; prior to this game, I only knew some of the villains. But Batman: AA has, dare I say it, educated me. I know so much about all the characters that I didn't know before, and I've ever discovered new ones who I hadn't heard before.

Also, the audio tapes are great. I didn't listen to some of Bioshock's because I found them a bit boring, but the ones found in Arkham Asylum are full of character and enjoyment.

I don't want to tempt fate, but... ah, to hell with it. I think this could very well be my GOTY.

Oh. My. God.

I thought my frickin' 360 had crashed when the screen goes all fuzzy then goes back to the very first cutscene, only for me to realise that it was just another of Scarecrow's twisted - yet delighftul - tricks. This game just keeps blowing me away.

Sorry for the running commentary (:P), but I just had to say that the Killer Croc section is awesome from what I've played so far. The part where you have to tread carefully along the loose wooden panels - otherwise it'll alert that big ugly crocodile - is so fucking intense.

I just love, love, love this game. I feel like a giddy young gamer again!
