Yeah, that was a non-issue, way over-sensationalized by people who misinterpret language in EULAs. Not to defend EA (fuck them), but their 3rd party happens to be all EA immediate affiliates, such as EA Sports, EA Games, Electronic Arts Inc, Origin, etc. They may be evil, but they are in no way dumb enough to commit corporate suicide by installing a rootkit, spyware, etc, etc. And you cannot claim ownership nor 'eves dropping' rights simply with a EULA.

People are stupid.

There was definitely some questionable wording in the old EULA, so I'm happy that they expanded the language to clarify some things. People have been extremely reactionary to every decision EA makes lately. I feel like I need to remind people that brands aren't people and they're not your friends. I'm certainly not defending every action EA makes, but I don't think they're really any worse than other large publishers (Activision, Ubi, Microsoft, etc). Corporation is not always on the side of the consumer.

There were some tin-foil hat like reactions, but that's the internet for ya.

Corporations in generaly are rarely on the consumer's side, they are more often on the quarterly statement side and if that happens to coincide with the customers needs and request then all the better.

Naturally.. but lets not venture into economics and politics :D

I don't really like the concept of big publisher stores, though you could argue that Steam has some of the same fundamental issues. I'm buying it from EA regardless.

Thank you. Of course, alienating customers completely isn't good for profits so there is some self-regulation there even if it's not always immediate. I will own this game all over the place! Then be owned by people all over the place!! I just can't see myself being as good on a PC (with M/k) as on a console.

People were making a fuss out of this yesterday, but I actually think it could be cool. There's no reason to assume that it will break the game outright. Lets hope it's in the beta though, so they can develop proper feedback on how it works.

Apparently only your squad can spawn on a beacon, making it even less abusable imo. I would have been open to playing w/ open spawns.

Limited revives? Huh? I don't recall limited revives in the alpha. You'd think it had to do with the way squad spawning works, but they're introducing it and changing squads to open spawns (like BC2).

I hope Dice make a Battlefield 2143 with this engine, BF2142 was so great and some of the weapons were so creative! I especially loved blowing the APC with that scoped energy gun, that gun packed a lot of punch and was great for taking out vehicles and killing 7 or 8 people hahaha

I'd love to see either 2142 or 1942 return.. but I'm sure we'll probably see Bad Company 3 next instead. :/

You can opt out of a revive.. that's the only difference I'm aware of.

I don't have good memories of BF2. I played the demo the day it was released and liked it but it ran like crap on my machine so I didn't buy the game. I bought the game at least a year after release and didn't really enjoy it :/

1) Sniping in BF2 was terrible, mainly because players looked like ants after a certain distance and the bullet drops were totally messed up.

2.) The server crashing hacks/cartillery/1 trillion supply box hacks started to show up soon after I got the game...yea

3.) Jets and attack helicopters dominated most maps and it was impossible to take them down

etc the game just was balanced...I LOVE Wake Island and just trying to capture a base or get to land was a total pain in the ass. ARGH the game was just frustrating. BF2142 on the other hand fixed all problems I had with BF2. I really loved it
