First one is only on PC, you cant rent PC games...can you?
IMO, Crysis 1/Warhead is great games if your PC can handle it, and it does fill you in with some backstory of the Ceph and all.

If not, just check walkthrough of the cutscenes or something from youtube and get Crysis 2.

Started it again @ post human difficulty...I beat Crysis 1 like 8 times on Delta with various mods but I don't think I am going to revisit this game that much. The game is freaking hard on that difficulty setting and Crytek sadly went the CoD route with spawning AI soldiers :(

But still a great game! Best FPS in years! BTW this game also features Bokeh DoF as seen in the Unreal Engine next gen video, it looks cool but takes at least 10 FPS. You guys should check it out

completed it today, dragged on about 3 hours too long, story was almost completely forgettable, much preferred the earlier combat situations compared to the boring, ceth combat. and i even preferred the first half of the game as far as the environment and combat options too.

overall a half decent FPS and well worth the rental, but not one i expect I'll want to ever play again.

EDIT : also, what is with the suit upgrade that lets you see through enemy cloaking? and costs an absolute shit ton of points to buy? there is only like, what?, 6 enemies that even HAVE cloaking in the entire single player? seems a bit pointless.

on the plus, the soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard in a game. although some tracks remind me of existing films SO much. like they've just been ripped off. hell, sound in general is awesome. and the B.O.B NY NY song....

Man this game is soo pretty on PC...I am gonna post a really good config tomorrow. Its all extreme + really good performance! Doesn't dip below 45 FPS on my rig (wish I had a better GPU for locked 60 )

That night/thunder map with the ceph tentacles everywhere looks so good man!! Unbelievable

yeah, i'd like to know this too. on normal difficulty, the very first ceph you fight can cloak. but i didn't see a single clocking ceph until the very end when you fight 4 at once. that's 5 in total, hardly worth the 18000 points you need to buy the upgrade. not when you can just turn on the thermal vision mode to see them anyway.

if there are more clocking ceph on harder difficulties, it would make more sense to buy it, but otherwise it seems like a huge waste of time for the ability to even be in the game. almost as if they planned on having more cloaked ceph, but forgot to add them?

that upper left upgrade column was pretty crappy in general tho. see cloaked enemies, get an audible cue when you're near enemies, and see tracer fire...

I am guessing you edit your "system.cfg" and delete the existing one and copy-and-paste the entire code in there.
Make sure to make a copy of the file first before you fiddle with it.

But isnt the same thing? I read it doesnt matter if its autoexec or system.cfg.

Btw, what do I have to do to remove the motion blur on the weapon when I move around, its really annoying.

Managed to play for an hour or so, looks amazing indeed, but what the hell is up with the body physics and animations?! It's borderline pathetic! Through a grenade to a bunch of foes, and see them flying off at 1000km/h, no acceleration, ridiculous. Also, shoot enemies at close distance and observe all kinds of weird physics (?) behavior. Very very distracting.

Ouch, the game has graphical issues as well, like lighting flickers, smoke looks like big pixels...etc. they need to release a huge patch to fix alot of stuff for the game.
Makes me wonder what they have done with the delay they did, game was suppose to be out in the end of 2010 but delayed it to polish it up, sure.

Why patch it when the patch will even screw up the game even more.

According to Raptor, that problem he has happened after they patched it on the 360 version, even on Mass Effect 2 on PS3 it happened.

Thats what I said as well.

Delete the patch, play it offline so you are not forced to download the patch.

I did that with ME2 on PS3, until Bioware fucking fixes the shit, which I doubt they will care anymore.
