Just remember its an RPG not action adventure game :)
Demon's Souls, Fable.

Action RPG though LOL.

As long as its quite fast in recharge rate of being able to use power moves again and have fast combat its good.
But again, I wont say it sucks or anything because I am still waiting for a gameplay video.

I just want teh combat to be real time at all times while in battle.

While Im not in battle I can pass some dialog and exploration and stats and stuff like that LOL

Or that its not what RPG does?

They said it was goind to be like more H&S.

You mean I have to say like this:

Attack
Defend
Heal

Chose one of those then the game will autoplay itself?

What I mean was something like Tales of Vesperia, combat in there its real time as far as the demo I played, was boring to me as hell but it was real time, it uses some type of arena but still.

there trying to make it so you can play it real time for those that wish to do so, but its an rpg at its core, so the core combat machanics are designed as such.

I think its cool, for people like me though, I dont know if that will turn out to be bad for traditional RPG fans.

Lets hope for a good balance.

Doesn't look too bad, thats real time enough for me, if all teh battles are like that or they give a choice to play it like that I will buy it .

Doesnt matter if the combat its not deep enough, hell I enjoyed DeathSpank and teh combat was really limited there as far as moves go.

Deathspank is really f'n "dumbed down," but it's not the combat that suffers, it's everything else. Sounds like DA2 will be perfect for you. ;)

Yep, thats the only combat video so far, and I think it looks pretty good, its fast too.
Though I want to see more videos before deciding.

It doesn't make you look like clowns, no.

It's more like:

Before real-time combat > no interest...
When real-time combat is hinted at > OMG!!1one1!!

I know there's nothing wrong with you being interested in a game when a new feature suddenly makes it appealing. I just found it to be funny is all.

Even though I'm with you guys in the sense that I much prefer real-time combat, I do think it's somewhat of a shame that they've made this move. They should have completely scrapped the console version(s), released it solely for the PC and maintained the strategic combat which was evident in the first - but of course that would mean less of a profit, and they are a profit-making organisation after all.

Well yeah I know that it sucks for the treu DA fans but at the same time they gain more fans like us.

I would've never consider it if it wasn't for this change.

So while its a bad thing for some its a great thing for us.

But yeah when you out it that way it is funny that suddenly Im now like "day one"

nothing has changed for the RPG fans as you can still play it pause/set up commands/action queue menu style, they only difference is that free flow combat will be a bit better for thoes that wish to hack and slash.

Didn't they remove the isometric view, the editor, and a load of other hardcore features? Promising a more streamlined a cinematic experience screams "dumbed down."

Nope PC features remain the same, console loses the isometric view?(no biggie) and i've heard of no other hardcore features going?, but you may know more facts than me, so links would be appreciated.
