lol yea I'd pay for extra cameras too.
Its all I've played since the demo came out. Man another thing I recently did on my hdtv was I dropped the brightness and WOWOWW everything looks so much better textures, environments and of course far more vibrant colors (don't believe me just try it on your hdtv) you'll see quite a difference. The main thing that drags this thing down visually is the jaggies without those it would be perfect in my opinion. I thought the environment looked good before, but I didn't give it enough credit (especially that part there on the left during the first turn you encounter on the entire track right where you see the nice skybox.)
The lighting from the sky when you're at that specific turn on the track looks gorgeous, but of course once you move further along the track you no longer see that.
Damn jaggies =P Luckily gameplay makes up for it though. I'm still surprised I'm playing a racer demo this much I like to play some racers, but its not exactly my genre and I'm enjoying it this much. Considering they didn't get to achieve everything they wanted to visually and even had to cut tracks I assume the replay camera was the least of their worries, but there's always next time =P

and the tv set up i am playing is on a 42" panasonic plasma (1st gen viera) through vga with a screen resolution of 1280x1024 in the tv,s cinema mode with a contrast of 10 brightness of 5 and a sharpness of 2
white balance is normal...and i have no jaggies, cars are smooth as a button.
now remember how much pgr3's visuals were slated when it released...i think peoples opinions are going to change on this game over time (lets see what poliphony do with gt5 shall we....forget pgr4 comparisons now please as they are totally different games and style of games)
and i agree the replay cameras do suck quite a bit, but the replay gfx im stoked,

And that is one of the sad things about the industry: It is very PR/Advert driven. What is a "AAA" game is often decided LOOONG before a game is released. Some games, based on how they are built, are able to show off stunning gameplay almost immediately to give this impression. Gears, Assassin's Creed, BiA3 all come to mind. Others are "positioned" earlier on in their lifecycle (Too Human and FM2 for example) and have choices:
Do we talk about our gameplay vision?
Do we talk about the story?
Do we hype the graphics?
Do we hype new interfaces and experiences?
I think it is an utter mistake to hype graphics from a list of features--as it is a mistake to hype content that you may not be able to include. Turn10 did both of these. The game ROCKS. They would have been faaar better off taking the angle of "this is an awesome sim that is totally approachable" and talked at LENGTH about customization. Yet at first the emphasis was heavily toward justifying the CGI they showed: PGR killer, near photorealistic, near CGI. Opps. All could have been absolved with a little mia culpa instead of the lies about photomode and the "old builds" tactic. So fans are left either not buying the game -- the best sim to date by far -- or defending the game's goals as if they were met, or just conceeding the point with a "yep, graphics are not what we were promised, but the game is great and makes up for it".
I am in the last camp and take issue with the middle camp. The middle camp though overlooks my looong time praise of the franchise, and even what was delivered, and are still overhyping the graphics the same way Turn10 did. The game's graphics are servicable and sadly have a lot of artifacts. It doesn't make it a worse game at all, but it does impact the immersion. And strategically I think it was an issue MS needed to resolve a long time ago. MS has some internal problems with 1st party stuff and as a consume I want MS to take a more Nintendo/Sony approach to software and not an EA/Activision one. Games like Turn10 and Shadowrun (another game with some graphic-no-delivery marketing) make me wonder who is running the show. And on the flip side seeing how Bungie has handled themselves (wonderfully!) and BC with PGR re-inforce that studios with more independance, as well as the mantra of showing the game when it is ready to be shown, is definately the right approach.
Too Human has needed a miracle to undo the damage MS has done to them. Visuals are absolutely vital in a TH like game and what MS had SK show was nothing short of horrible. Yet SK backed off and re-engineered the project to resolve these issues. MS should have known that showing off an incomplete game could harm the title -- and worse SK! -- yet they persist. So some of my points are perephrial: MS needs to be more careful how they handle their internal IPs. And while FM2 as a game is NOT a let down, they would have been better off taking another approach if they were not willing to conceed falling short (kind of like the whole "our console doesn't have issues yet we are extending our warranty" mindgame).
PR, especially that that damages companies and images, is bad. And I think MS has some growing up to do here. As for FM2, it totally delivered on almost everything but graphics. It wouldn't be such a big deal if a. Turn10 didn't make graphics a big deal and b. people would stop making them into something they are not. That is really what is boils down to. And until PGR4, and then GT5, are released we will endure the continued theme of, "FM2 rules graphically" with dogging the other titles. Of course with realtime gameplay of FM2 out there is some relevant discussion.
Of course no one is really discussing all the forms of aliasing, bloom overload, white spec artifacting, and typically low AF. It has all boiled down to, "You criticize my favorite game? How dare you! It is awesome looking! The other games suck!" :| Welcome to Xboxyde!
Wishlist: PGR4 with a FF wheel, 2K Legends Football, and Halo 3 with an XFPS controller. And I can dream that Halo Wars will be a Battlezone PC clone...

Q: Will it be possible to change the replay cameras in the near future?
A: Unfortunately no. And these replay camera angles are what you'll see for Forza TV as well. Keep in mind that each ribbon will have its own camera placements so it differs with every track variation. Those of you who would like to see more of the moment to moment tactical action can always switch views (third person, hood, bumper) or even switch cars to see that crucial pass.
EDIT: Just Watched the video on Nurb, looks absoluteley fantastic! Some nice angles too
There must be a reason why FM2 looks like it looks.
Yes they lied about the graphics, but there is nothing that can be done about it now so as of now you're either interested in the game or you're not. Have you actually played the demo? No amount of complaining is going to fix the graphics to your liking so if thats all you're interested in why bother?
I'm assuming from your earlier comments that you haven't played the demo and do not even own a 360?
Also Acert from your Too Human comments are you suggesting their latest showings have hurt the perception of the game as well? Regarding the "yet they persist" comment.

Although im not sure if this effects anything but bikes are smaller so less detail is required then cars would that be correct im just guessing though. Maybe its the physics engine also dosnt it run at 360fps or something maybe that effects it again i have no idea but surely there a reason. Im sure they would of added all the features if they could especially when you see how keen Dan Greenwalt is i swear he sleeps with Forza 2 disk lol.
I'm glad I'm not the only one here who believes the replays suck ass. They obviously didn't learn anything from PGR3's Gotham TV, and I can see how many times I'll use Forza TV...........NONE.
EDIT: Ah, I see we are not the only ones.

Exactly what it looks like on my HDTV with jaggies on cars. Maybe if I adjust my brightness I can eliminate them.
EDIT: Adjusted the brightness & contrast on my set and the jaggies aren't nearly as much of an issue as they were before. Like the only way I'd spot a jaggie is if I'm really looking for em when I enjoy the overall look it looks amazing. To spot a decent amount of jaggies I gotta go pretty close to the HDTV.

I have myself a secret weapon and I'm going to be kicking all sorts of tail with it online especially after I give it a few upgrades *sinister laugh* Wonder how much better I'll be able to make it ;D
I found myself quite the gem in the demo I can pretty much do with it whatever I please and I just totally mastered every aspect of it I know this vehicle to perfection for all possible scenarios (no assists on of course) Be afraid... be very very afraid =D
If this damn game is this addicting with a controller I can't wait to get my hands on that wheel.

Visuals are pretty good, the car models are really nice, especially during selection screen. AAx4 would have made a big difference. There are alot of unessesary jaggies, but no more than i can live with. The Sound is incredible. Hearing some one slam in to your back really gives you a shock. I found it better to turn all the levels down execpt the collision and engine sounds.
Never played PC sims before, so all i can say is this is without a doubt the best racer on a console ever.
Few Q's...
Do you get rewarded or achievements for driving with no assists?
and was just wondering if race drivers use any assists in real life?

Do you get rewarded or achievements for driving with no assists? You get more money in career mode. Achievements? I don't know, I haven't bothered to check them out.
and was just wondering if race drivers use any assists in real life? Yes, some do. No driving line aid though, lol, imagine that.
