This could be a much funner minigame as in 1 instance hera turned his latest interest into a cow so he wouldnt ravage her, and he responded by turning himself into a bull... :P (all to say, him and his 2 brothers are on a different level, their power is never questioned, and the best heroes could do is injure a minor god)

Inscrit depuis 6675 JoursIf you are to have nudity in games then, for the love of god, at least have it within some context that makes sense, not just whores screwing Kratos to suck in tards that haven't figured internet porn out yet :P
In Bayonetta i can sort of accept it because they never do any actual nudity, nor do i think the intention of it was to be sexy as opposed to funny and satirizing shit like this here crap in GoW. They do it with a flair, something that GoW utterly fails to do...if it was ever attempted. Personally i don't think so. I just think it's titties for the sake of titties.

Inscrit depuis 6906 JoursAs for nerdy comment, this is 1 of the few comments where i feel very comfortable and informed. If this game was supposed to be inspired by greek myth, then instead of using names and characters from the myth, how about making new names, new regions, that are just a copy, and there they can have all their creative freedom they want, but truth is by saying it is based on greek myth, which is always a cool subject they got more curiosity from the audience or whatnot, the way i see it they used greek myth to help their game. Does DMC NG or Bayonetta have better stories? nope, yet at least they wrote something new.
BTW, kratos begged for his powers in the face of death... What message does this send to kids? cry hard enough and you get what you want?
See all the heroes in greek myth usually grow, achilles goes from a selfish SOB to realise that he's not the center of the universe, and in the afterlife even realise that life isnt about fame and fortune...
So no, this game has a shallow hero, a story that doesnt portray greek myth even remotely close to whats generaly accepted and a poor message to kids, cry enough, live for revenge, etc...
When all think alike, no one is thinking very much.

Inscrit depuis 6753 Joursgo watch the giantbomb interview. they explain like they have done in the past, that they set out to create fun gameplay/ challenges/ confrontation and then find a greek myth that would fit their plan. they have NEVER said they are settting out to faithfully tell the story of greek mythology. not once. it is a loose interpretation. they are inspired by it as far as creatures, settings and gods, but they are in no way bound to it. just like all games based on any time period, story or historical confrontation. sure WW2 games take inspiration from what happened as far as setting, guns etc, but they are no means 100% faithfull, the GAME wouldnt be fun if it was, or there wouldnt be a game to begin with.
what santa monica are doing is taking something and making it there own. just like a director/screenwriter does when he makes an adaption of a book. i dont want an accurate lesson in greek mythology becasue i know about it already and it would make for a boring game. i want something entertaining and fun, and that is exactly what the GOW series offers. if you are seriously hung up on creative freedom you must hate a lot of stuff out there. games and movies alike.

Inscrit depuis 7279 JoursSome of the best games imitate the real thing. People were in awe when games like Medal of Honor recreated the beach scene of Normandy for example.
Wolfenstein doesn't really stray from WW2 that much either. Everyone knows Hitler and others searched for mystical items and attempted to make the greatest soldiers (super soldiers) the world had ever known. All Wolfenstein does is throw in some monsters and super powers. It isn't that creative.
I would even argue GOW isn't all that creative either. People have been doing stories on characters just like Kratos who battle Zeus for ages. Hell I saw Hades do it in Disney's 1997 Hercules when he released the Titans to battle Zeus.
In terms of gameplay and visuals however, that is creative.

Inscrit depuis 6753 Joursi'd rather a developer do something creative with a source, be it design wise, art wise, story wise or gamplay wise, then just recreate something again...becasue when does it stop? using schmooboo's logic, every game inspired by greek mythology has to be 100% accurate to greek mythology. meaning every game will just be a retelling of the same story, over and over and over. who want that? cos i certainly dont.
Inscrit depuis 7279 JoursThis story isn't new. It's been done A LOT (over and over as you say). There are very few mainstream games that contain any sort of originality that isn't stripped from somewhere else. They use the story of revenge against Zeus which has been told numerous ways in our history, games, movies, etc.
I think when someone decides to use classic literature and references from myth, then exploit it with very extreme violence, tasteless propaganda (think of the scandal they created a year or so ago), and sex: people who enjoy those stories and history are going to be offended. What's wrong with that? It is bound to happen and it's valid.
This doesn't change the fact the game is again fun to play.
Also Frozpot, you and I both know kids are playing just about every game. It really doesn't matter if the game is rated M or not. Kids are all exposed to sex and violence at such an early age it really doesn't make a difference anymore. Parents will buy them the M rated game unless they're under 10 generally. The internet has taken care of any sort of barrier between most kids and explicit content.
