Jin187 is obviously sheltered and not seeing other games like COD4 & Mass Effect. Tunnel Vision for sure. Heck even Team Fortress2 & PGR4 are looking outstanding. I like the "by far"... I do think the singleplayer campaign looks better than I expected, based on the IGN vid, but looking better by far of other 360 games... not even.

Ok, i admit "by far" is an exageration, but for this game looks better than anything i've seen so far. Mass Effect/COD4/PGR4 come close but not close enough and team fotress is simply no where near.

TF2 may not kill anything in general graphic quality but it pretty much kills everything in terms of its unique art style.

The vidoc is pretty awesome. No single player stuff really...mostly about saved films and Forge, but still looks kick ass.

Right, well got as far as any of the campaign media has shown and about 5 minutes beyond. Lighting at this particular point in the game is fantastic. Shame they won't be showing any shots of it for quite a while. Took a nice pic using the save films feature which I'll upload to my file share AFTER the game comes out :)

It'll be spoiler ish though so those looking to stay purer than pure keep their wits about them on Bungie.net until they're done with campaign.

naa halo has a vastly betterand very unique art style, not as obvious as tf2 but a lot better

art is subjective. besides, alot of games have unique art styles, Bioshock, GTA4, Mass effect. but to be fair, all those games look better than Halo 3 aswell.

Just enjoy the game people and wonder if it looks better than this or that after you play the game. Best graphics of they year is pretty pointless unless one game really stands out from the crowd (and then it would be pointless too as the winner would be obvious;)).

I just watched new ViDoc - wow, Bungie guys are really creative and imaginative. I wonder if in future they could add not only new maps but features to DLC actually. Would be interesting. After a couple of terrible screens recently that video also reassured me that the game looks fine.

Art style aside, TF2 is conceptually very well designed and implimented. The use of colors and style to resonate their general theme and to enhance gameplay is excellent. Further, Valve is doing some very unique things on a technical level with TF2. They just didn't go the diffuse+normal+specular, throw some motion blur and HDR for good measure and "call it a day" routine.

As for the art as a taste... my stance is it is amazing. But beyond that, I think it may be the best use of technology so far this gen.

In 5 years TF2 will look really good compared to new games. Why? Because it is an artistic design executed flawlessly. New technology would only inprove minor things (poly count, texture resolution). But a game like Halo 3, Mass Effect, etc... in 5 years they are going to look OLD. When you try to emulate realism to a degree that is the consequence.

True art doesn't age as quickly. And TF2 is a classic example of art.

Halo is not trying to be realistic, hence the chunkyness to it, its trying to about as real as fable

and halo is old, and still looks great :D

TF2 is very nice yes, but i am prefering the halo look

None of those do, the only game that could Knock Halo 3 off the top graphically is Crysis.

Dunno kinda equal with bishock, bioshock is all indoors and does not have to generate large scale where as halo 3 does, but the overall quality in the small rooms of bioshock is truelly impressive and the style is fantastic, but halo's scale is fantastic and the over all frame rate and choas is equally impressive

Since you are dealing in fairly firm absolutes: There are many games that do stuff technically better or with better fidelity.

Halo isn't even in the same universe as as Crysis btw. No "could" about it.
