It's funny that supposed megathreads like Simon's all-JRPG discussion get a few pages while threads about games people here care about get huuuge amounts of posts here. Yeah, ME1 thread was 110 pages long.

Weren't the Blue Dragon threads pretty massive, too? :P

If my memory serves me correctly, the Blue Dragon thread escalated to well over 9000 pages :P

The Forza 2 thread was pretty legendary, too. I even think a few stabbings took place in that thread, as well. Things were pretty crazy.

I'm confused. Are you mad because you agree that a custom games browser would make it awesomer, or mad because I want a server browser in a Halo game? :P

Their reaction to the fan response to the lack of said feature in Halo 3 bordered on shameful. But putting that all aside, I still am looking forward to this game more than any other release this year.

Every vid just makes this game look more and more epic. The wait for this game is seriously starting to get painful. Firefight, more than anything, is what has me VERY amped up for this game's release.

Any word on if we can use forge mode to make our own firefight maps? now THAT would be fucking epic!!!

Unfortunately, they've said using Forge to alter Firefight maps is a no go.

Damn! I hadn't even considered the possibility! So you can't alter firefight maps, but I wouldn't have even thought to ask for that since we can't alter any maps other than the forge world map. The real question I have is: can we play firefight in forge maps?! God that would be epic. I'm guessing no, since they apparently already covered this topic, but hot damn that would be great! It's a total bummer if that functionality isn't in Reach, and I the possibility hadn't even previously crossed my mind :(

What?! That doesn't make sense. Despite all the steps forwards, that's a step back. Was this actually said, or did you maybe mishear something?

As for Firefight, I have no idea if we can play it in Forgeworld maps, but I'd guess no as well. And while we can't alter maps in Firefight, at least we can alter the game parameters.

Still, I'm surprised Fireforge isn't an actual thing. I think Bungie cited lack of time as the reason....but also said it wouldn't be coming as DLC.

Yeah, sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean can we alter forge maps, I meant to ask if we can play firefight mode in maps we create using the forge world map.

Either way it would be fucking epic as hell to make our own huge firefight maps in forge world and play firefight with a bunch of friends online. I would so put in a shit load of hours doing that lol.

Well I'm sure (note: not actually sure) you can still play with Forge in pre-existing maps, but you could never really "edit" Halo 3 maps. You could build game types and place weapons and vehicles and stuff, but you couldn't really build maps so far as I know--could you? I thought you could only build maps within Forge's template too, and it had far worse options for map building, including far fewer objects and a much smaller world budget. That's all I meant. Everything about Forge World is a huge leap forward for customization.
