Also 1 flag ctf you don't really have to run around a bunch of times to cap in headhunter. If you hit the bouncer right you can drop the flag at the top of your bounce right next to the cap point and someone can just take it the rest of the way in np.
Powerhouse is kind of a boring map. Headhunter is pretty decent.
Also Covy Slayer RULES SO HARD. Why don't more people vote for it? So fast and intense.

If that's the case (I still have to play the game before making final judgement), Bungie should make the melee do 70-80% shield damage, or even less. I really don't understand why they haven't done this since they obviously shortened the delay between melees. Their goal was to prolong combat, the melee is working against that.
Regardless of how it actually turns out to play, I don't like the fact that your shields are dropped to 0 at all. It's just a cheap method of leveling the playing field. It makes FFA deaths completely random and frustrating. And for FFA sake I hope they tone down the grenades a bit as well.
Really, they should just go back to how Halo 2 handeled melee and shields. It was bautifully ballanced. A punch in mid air would drop you to 0%, a punch while moving to 30-50% and a punch while standing still 75%. Two of them meant you were one shot and you could then decide if you went for the second melee or shot them in the head, the later usually took less time. Obviously this was destroyed by button glitches, but this hasn't been topped ever since.
I think maybe the accuracy just needs to be upped for the AR? I guess it serves the purpose Bungie have for it though...
Also I'm not sure if it's just me but I hope the executions get more work/polish. When I come from the side or front and I hold down melee it would be cool to get the execution? It seems to mainly work from the back only. It also just seems so underwhelming. Like why would I ever do this? Not really satisfying at all and I can't even tell what's going on most of the time. Just hitting someone is simply better.

I totally agree that the DMR should be 4+1 though. I don't think they need to change the bloom either. As it is, it's much harder to use than the BR, which I actually like, but combining the resulting low rate of fire with lower damage is just shitty. If the BR and DMR could fight, the BR would probably win most of the time, and even if they were both 4SK's.

The game rules though.. despite being so different. I really miss things like the brute shotty, turrets, and some other things that you see following the evolution of Halo up to Halo 3, but not enough to say that it's any better than what they're giving us here. I have a feeling if I played Halo 3 right now, I'd miss sprinting, covy slayer, the new pistol, and the new weapons much more!
I've seen some people be borderline abusive with armor lock.. but I haven't quite gotten that skill set down yet myself.
And where is that damned grenade launcher on powerhouse? I've used it but only after killing the dude who had it before me. It seems not many people know it's even there so far, since I've only been killed with it four times.
I'll need to have a play with the DMR to see if it really needs to be powered up. From what i can tell, the "All Purpose" weapons have been removed completely and each weapon is now a "Situation Weapon", just need to find the right times to use them.
If you thought AR+melee was bad, well, prepare to be bum rushed with melee + melee in the Halo Reach beta once today's new players figure out how effective it is.
When you can carry only two weapons, there can't be super specific scenarios for each tool either. Having a pistol means you already have one practical all purpose tool anyway though. It's not as effective at range as something like the DMR (or NR, or needler, etc), but it's still pretty good. And when you consider that the Plasma Repeater is the Covy equivalent of an AR, should we throw that out too?
