He's not middle aged.

I know how you feel about the harshness, but I don't think it's as huge a criticism as it sounds.

I actually liked to play the game a lot. I thought there were some noticable annoying areas where they were a little bit too ambitious (which isn't saying a lot) with puzzles while monsters were trying to get your attention, but other than that bosses were mostly pretty rewarding to beat and the battles were really fast and fluid.

For me it's at story and characters that the game fails, and it doesn't really mess up enough to call it proper failure. It just.. well okay I think the overall plot is stupid, but I already went over that earlier.. so I'll just say that nothing else was particularly "radiant" either. Even the characters that were super important to the story were sort of toned down from the norm obviously as a result of the world being less stylized overall too.

I think this was hit and miss as Kaim and Seth both have looks that are low key, "less-is-more", that still manage to stick, whereas the others don't fare as well. The writing is equally monotonous and sticks Jansen with a few (funny or not - you decide) quips that make him stand out, but other than that - perhaps to echo their lack of memories thus their relative lack of distinct personalities - they usually talk a bunch without ever distinguishing themselves too much.

This is for the main party of course, and apart from them... uuuuuuh. Uuuuum. Well there really aren't any characters. You have cloned armies and cloned citizens and mr potatohead, er I mean Gongora the potplant with moustache and his cloned friends. Even his big evil sorcerer fellas later on are void of any staying factor personality wise because they too are clones of one another. Oh and every boss in the entire game is essentially "...some kind of beast" like Jansen would put it.

So in the end when all is said there's very little to remember it by, and the lack of characters is baffling considering it half attempts to be political intrigue, at least it sees the need to have that take up over half of the game. That has no real impact on how fun it was to play - which it was - but it does affect the feeling afterwards. The dreams are very memorable, but truth told they never do mesh well with the rest, because they feel written by a completely different and way more talented writer. Which they, uh, were.

So yes! Playing it it was prolly one of the best experiences I've had on the 360, but much like Kaim can't seem to remember his odyssey, I'm having trouble remembering this one.
