Ok, lets settle this.

Only on Xbox does not mean it's a permanent exclusive. It means it's an exclusive at the time that the game is released.

That's no settling it, Jedi. PC does not count. You're right in that it doesn't neccessarily mean that it's permanent, but PC doesn't mean anything. They're considered separate markets, and even simultanious releases on Xbox and PC have had and will always have Only on Xbox as long as it's permanent or temporarily exclusive on Xbox.

Shawnzee says a lot of nutty stuff, but he's right that PC remains unaffected when it comes to exclusive deals.

Er, no, it's a matter of contractual rules. Final Fantasy 7 and Tomb Raider back in the day were on PC because of this aswell.

Check out the simultanious release Deux Ex 2 and note how the Xbox version has an Only on Xbox tag and the PC version happily co-exists anyway.

Ok, you are correct. I personally see the PC in direct competition, but obviously MS and you don't. Oh well.

Competition means Market Share to these guys and PC in no way effects market share of the Console Market so they are in no way competing with the PC format.

The only way PC can become a "competition" is if someone with only a PS2 says "Oh i don't need Xbox because I can play Halo on PC"
But then MS still won't care as they still get the money.

Not exactly, they get money from the sales of the OS, but not from the sales of the games. They don't own PC gaming like they do xbox gaming. So a sale of any PC game goes to the publisher and developer, no royalty is paid. Unless you meant specifically to halo, in which case MS are the publisher so they would get some cash.
