why would there be a need for 256 players on a single screen? this isnt some cluster-fuck UT type game...it's squads taking on objectives across a larger map. hell, i dont think i've ever seen all 16 players on screen in a game of cod 4....why would that suddenly happen in a game with a much higher player count?
It does look pretty interesting though. I'm sure they'll take precautions to make sure that it actually handles that kind of player count. That may mean funneling people into more condensed areas but that's not a bad thing. I think it's more interesting now that we've actually seen it. The initial hype surrounding the player cap only made me skeptical.
Some of the best games of BF2 I ever played were 5v5's on 16 player maps.
Aside from being able to have a feature list bullet point, I guess I don't see the need for such a large number of players in an FPS. I suppose there are people who enjoy heavily populated games...so great for them then.

Of course I think your opinion is wrong, just like you think my opinion is wrong. DUH.
I could say "in my opinion, the earth is flat" and well that is not right. And that's why we discuss so much things like gameplay and graphics, etc. I just thought I would throw out this comment after so many discussions on opinions.
Mods, stop changing my SIG! I'm going to end up banning you!
Qualifying something as an opinion does not protect it from criticism. That's ridiculous.
In your opinion, KornDOG, more = better. In my opinion, that's a silly broad statement that doesn't actually mean anything. Better = better.
info on how everything works. definately sounds like they have everything covered. i'm starting to get pretty excited by this one tbh.

Something along the lines is already happening with WarHawk 2. They are taking up outer-space themes to it and calling it StarHawk. Would be great to have space-stations, anti-grav shootouts and maybe, just maybe different planetary systems and cities on them. That departure from 50's war themes is totally welcomed :)
Onto something else though... Happy news for me and everyone else who signed up for the beta on the european side of the psn blog.

The controls are abit weird and takes some time getting used to, framerate is stabile and doesnt drop at all it seems, explosions going around and about 20 guys running around on screen and no slowdowns. Weapons seems to be balanced well although the bullets dont spread that much and it's therefore too easy to hit stuff from a distance at most times. Really enjoyed it alot sofar and hopefully i can get some more time with it later tonight.
