That trailer got me un-hyped!

completing MGS4 put me off pretty much anything MGS related.

I have yet to comlpete MGS4.

Vanquish-style!...does this mean its by Shinji Mikami? I hope so, that guy has some serious badass style when it comes to speed and agility!


I also love that small detail of push-wave when he sprints faster than normal and he leans more forward, really nice!

There is something really offputting in this game but I can't quite put my finger on what.

I should stop watching this stuff because it makes me sad.

Sad becuz I cant play it now.

You have to cram in more stylish sword combat and actual awesome cinematics to show what Ryu is made of to compare them two, but whatever.

I was mostly talking about the slashing game play to clarify though. Where he's up close with the enemy. Aside from the gimmick of slowing down to dice people, the combat looks relatively the same.

They all look the same, you have to be close to do something with a melee weapon lol

This is how the japanese think when it comes to melee combat, they exagerate their moves unlike the westerns, hence why I like japanese made action games more.

Did the writer actually play MGS4? I doubt it. Raiden is supposed to be overpowered in comparison to snake. Thats how Kojima wanted him to be.
Kojima: "I wanted to make a cooler Raiden. Personally I loved Raiden how he was in MGS2. But people complained about him looking feminine.
"So this time I wanted Raiden to be the one who aids Snake and I am sure people will think differently about Raiden after MGS4"

So once you play MGS4 you will notice that Raiden is so badass (and stronger than Snake) its not even funny. The guy does some crazy cyborg ninja stuff.
It was so badass, even Itagaki himself said after watching Raiden in action:
Itagaki:"Also when I was watching, there were those two legged tanks. I thought those were very cool.
Near the end when Raiden comes and he starts slicing up those tanks and he is doing this perfect sword-fighting display,
a sort of mantra of sword fighting display, it just blew my mind and I said, "That's a ninja. This is a ninja." Obviously that is a cut-scene.
Now if you were able do that playable then that's amazing. Even just looking at it as a static cut-scene it is still an amazing achievement, what he did.
You can't make something like that unless you know exactly the vision you are looking for.


Back then Itagaki did not know that the day would come, when Raiden will pull this stuff realtime. Imagine how he feels now.

So another thing to conclude: Why is everyone so shocked about Raiden throwing a Ray in the air?? The guy stops a freakin ARSENAL gear with his BACK.
An Arsenal people. We are talking about the guy who cut his own arm and later on ended up with no arms at all, holding a sword in his mouth wearing a leather jacket.
Actually every cutscene in MGS4 containing Raiden, is enough evidence that this guy is a badass cyborg super ninja ---> stronger than Snake.

I have been urging for such a title in a very long time since MGS4 cutscenes so what I saw its badass for sure.

Cant say i'm too excited with what they have shown thus far.

AAA AWESOME! I love the ass sliding ability. Awesome in Crysis 2 (Shit game I know but at least the ass sliding was fun), Vanquish and now this

Batman AC has it too, NG3, Vanquish, Crysis 2, Bulletstorm.

But Vanquish is focused on it, but when I see exagerated sliding, I love it.

In NG3 looks retarded.

All others are coll as hell.

Its great in NG3 because a dodge is also an attack in combat, launches enemies up now.

Honestly, this game looks like a huge step down from the previous MGS titles, in fact, i'd go as far as saying it looked pretty awful to be honest. I wasn't impressed by a single bit of that trailer, really disappointing.
