I don't feel bad about buying this for the 360 at all. It's fun and yeah I think it's shitty what they have done to PC, but I'm not gonna let that hamper my enjoyment of a great 360 game.
And I wouldn't fault you for it, either. You're not losing anything, after all. I'd love to see it crash and burn, especially on the PC, but that's not going to happen.

If nothing else, I can hope that other people got the message.. but it's clear that the casual base is the popular majority. Why you can only aim to please them, I'm not sure.

You pay 10 euros to go to the movies for 2h of entertainment, but this is the equivalent of them trying to force you to buy specific brands of confectionary to go along with your movie whether you want to or not.
nope, not the same thing, at all. You gave a good example. In the past pc players were used to be able to make their own mods and whatnot, which was great. Now they (activision) are trying to gimp that, so that they can sell the pc crowd their DLC. It's lame alright, but everyone with a bit of intelligence can understand why. Look at how much their investment had increased?! Why should people be enjoying their game for years, in which they put so much investment in, while they're not getting anything in return?
Yes, it used to be like that in the past, but doesn't mean it has to be like that for ever, specially on their side of the game so much changing.

I mean, it's lame, but not outrageous and quite understandable

You know that Activision actually offered IW a higher budget for MW2 than they actually used, because they knew it would make a huge return regardless, right? Plus, there are plenty of ways of mobilizing premium content without taking away functionality. Does the developer console have anything to do with DLC? How about the ability to lean around corners? The idea that they're "not getting anything in return" is laughable. They upped the price, they took away features, and that's about all that really needs to be said. The message is clear: Pay more for less and be happy about it.

I'd gladly pay.. ya know.. more for more.

And for whatever it's worth, it's not like they gave away the DLC for COD4 and WAW for nothing. Every content pack that was released on the PC was sponsored. Activision wasn't about to let that shit get out without someone paying for it.

It's understandable to charge you constantly while you enjoy their game? Does that mean they will pay their staff that worked on the game forever while people play it, does it heck. Maybe the movie industry should do this, sell you a blu-ray that you can watch once, but automatically charges you £15 every time you watch it after that, afterall you're getting added enjoyment out of it and only paid for it once.
What about your TV, you pay for it once, the manufacturer then sees no return of income, perhaps an added charge every time you turn it on, maybe an added charge when you change the channel.

The idea that you should continually pay for something every time you make use of it is rediculous, the market has dictated certain levels of worth and value, just because companies are greedy doesnt mean the consumer should just bend over and willingly take it up the ass.

EDIT: On a related note, just home from Sainsbury's, they sold out at 9am. Game is charging £44.99 for it, they can stick it where the sun dont shine for that.

more proof that they are making WAY more money than they should is this too (not to mention the PR they are getting from it)

Can't say anything negative about that. If you have extraordinary amounts of money, you're basically morally obligated to give some of it away.. but it doesn't make it any less of a nice thing.

Cmon...what about the new spec-op missions?! In the previous game this was not there, and now it is? How come you say you're paying more for less, because they too lean out? L-O-L
I mean cmon. You are getting 3 games in one: A 10h SP, and XXh coop with friends, a XXXh online, and you're complaining they took lean out...

I dunno, its a nice thing and it isnt, what makes the US army a worthy cause and no other army? I can see what theyre trying to do, but surely they could have chosen a more neutral charity, especially as it's money from the EU and the rest of the world being used as part of this donation.

One of many features they removed, but a major gameplay component, yes. Call of Duty's depth in movement is one of the main reasons I fell so deeply in love with it.

Clearly the lack of mod tools and dedicated server support are the largest faults, but it hardly ends there. They stripped everything unique about the PC SKU out of the game entirely.

Three games in one.... LOL.

Dude, don't pretend you don't understand what i meant. Have you noticed going to the cinema costs 10e whereas buying the bluray costs you 30e. OMG you're getting the same and paying more!!

edit: in case you didn't understand what i meant, if a product can be used for many more years than another one, is more valuable.

You don't own the movie you watched in the cinema. That's an amazingly one sided and meaningless analogy. Hell, the whole cost of movie entertainment analogy just stinks.

What's next? Popcorn is DLC?

All things considered, MW2’s multiplayer element feels like it deserves the same level of success as that of MW.

Unless you’re a PC gamer. For reasons best known to itself, Infinity Ward has opted out of dedicated multiplayer servers, a decision that throttles the game’s potential on the platform, as well as belying the developer’s PC roots. The flexibility MW2 has the potential to display in the hands of its audience is lost for no good reason other than a desire for control. No mod tools, no custom maps and no clan-hosted servers mean there has to be serious doubt about MW2’s long-term future in a marketplace containing the moddable original as well as the likes of Team Fortress 2. It couldn’t be clearer that MW2’s focus is overwhelmingly on the console market.
Wow. That's the most honest take I've seen from the gaming press on MW2's PC fumble.

Way to go Edge!

And I thought I was cheap :p

If it was still £50 over here there's no way I would have bought it. I even got the PS3 version should (If by some miracle) I decide to venture online with it, I don't pay.

No, on second thoughts I think i'm cheaper than you.

Bought it today on PS3 (traded Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 *haha i know :P* and added a bit money to it), the MP is pretty awesome, much better than COD4.
You keep unlocking and getting achievements and such whatever you do, so alot of pop up messages which feels nice.

I am glad they included Eotech scope (holographic scope) from the first COD4 SP to MP this time around.

Its quite interesting as well to see so much airstrike varieties, now I have unlocked a 25 killstreak for a nuke, but its gonna take a miracle to pull that one off, but there is ALOT of other ones which I cant wait to see what they do, but you have to purchase them and can only select 3, and can't take anyone you want, there is a restriction in how you combine them.
I feel this time around , MW2 has much more unlockables from previous one so its gonna take much more time to get them all unlocked, from emblems, weapons, titles, airstrikes, perks, weapon add-on...etc.

I played the SP mode for like an hour, I am in the snow area with Cpt. Price (i think thats his name) same one in the demos they showed.

But so far, very nice!
and the music...*bows to Hans Zimmer*
