Concerning ammo, its because you get a perk that adds more and an add-on.
exactly! It also boggled me at first, but then I realized it made the scavenger perk make a bit more sense, adds a bit more to range of possible play styles. I'm testing it, currently using it in one of my custom classes.

So I got the game for Xbox, I know very late. I haven't played online, but beat the SP. I have to say the SP was incredible, I love how they increased the amount of missions/places where you have to be quiet and snipe silently, that's just awesome. I agree with Simon on that betrayal part, it sort of did make me feel bad. The storytelling overall though, was a couple of notches below COD4.
The same here, felt it was an insane thrill ride. Very very cool, loved it. But the story is really really convoluted, had to check wikipedia to check if I got it right. why the hell did price shoot the nuclear missiles over Washington?! Was a bit upset at points with the strong american patriotism at some points the part in Washington after the bomb detonates over the sky and in the end you stop the city from being bombed by the americans, there's a dialog in the lines of "when do we go to Moscow?" "I dunno, but when we go, we will burn it down"... Ugh, I almost threw up.
Besides this cheeziness, loved it.
Also, regarding the length, it took me 9h45m to finish it in hardened. Maybe I play too slow? I cannot imagine how anyone can say the game is short and can be played in 5hours (i mean, maybe you can, but i wonder if your enjoying it?)

Do I need to play it to have a little fun with Jato now too? I've been good lately.. I haven't even begun railing on half the ridiculous perks in this game! No fall damage? No problem! ;)

Srsly.. I was just grilling Jato for things he was personally complaining about himself. I'm convinced that most of the spawn issues will go away if you play CTF or S&D though :)

VAC is just Valve Anti Cheat. You do need to run MW2 through Steam but it's online/matchmaking component isn't handled by Valve... just Anti-Cheat and Steam Cloud.

I don't think Steam requires Steam DRM games to use VAC over Punkbuster.. but that's just.. what they did.

So yes. VAC is being used by InfinityWardboxlive.

Your game gets banned from IWNet. Your steam account is associated to some degree with IWNet since all copies of MW2 use Steam DRM, as such, you have to be logged in to Steam to play. Punkbuster banned CD-Keys (GUID), this basically is doing the same thing.. sorta.

I used to think VAC would ban your entire steam account from all VAC protected servers.. but apparently VAC bans are run on a per-engine basis. Even Source games are limited to whatever version of Source that particular game runs on.

Getting a little frustrated with the randomness of headshot kills in non-HC modes. It's been happening far too frequently where all I can see of a guy is his head, and I'll hit it not once, not twice, but three damn times before he goes down. I don't quite understand what is required to get that one hit kill. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't, and since there's no Juggernaut perk, that's obviously not a factor.

What weapon? Most guns require two bullets to the dome, even with stopping power. In COD4 the M14 was the only non-sniper gun in the game that could get a one hit kill period.

I've been using the FAL. I wasn't aware that it generally takes more than one shot to the head to register a kill. The fact that I've gotten one hit headshot kills though hasn't exactly helped me become accustomed to this though.

In the time it takes me to line up two headshots on a target, I could easily rattle off three to four shots to the torso, and I'd be less prone to missing. It doesn't seem like MW2 rewards aiming all that much...unless you're sniping.

It largely depends on the gun.. but head shots can be rewarding. A double tap to the chest with a deagle is equally as effective as two to the head.. so in some cases you're certainly right. Hell, sniper rifles kill w/ one to the chest too.. but I don't think it's terribly unbalanced that way. There's at least half a dozen other hitboxes on the model; head/neck/chest are all pretty vulnerable. At least it's not like COD2, where a sniper round to your big toe could take you down.

Generally speaking, aiming for the chest is pretty effective.. especially with Assault Rifles. I'd concentrate more on headshots if you're runnin' and gunnin' with an SMG.. but frankly.. if you're hitting the chest a lot more than the head, aim for the chest.

And even with all the ridiculous new perks in the game.. I can't imagine sacrificing stopping power for anything.

I think aim is rewarded pretty highly in vanilla, but so is spraying from the hip, strafe jumping around corners, etc. It's definitely an arcade twitchy kinda game. I would suggest that aim is [probably] slightly less important in MW2, since most people imply that they've increased the size of the hitboxes. Plus... you've got that laser-aimbot-autoaim when you tap the left trigger.

you've got that laser-aimbot-autoaim when you tap the left trigger.
I don't find that it works particularly well at all. Maybe I'm not doing it right(?), but I'm pretty much always off by a substantial amount.

I really don't like the auto aim tracking that's in the game. It's annoying to be aiming at a window or door for a target to appear and have my crosshairs get automatically dragged along behind some other enemy who happened to run by.

It's not. Would be ridiculous to have that in any MP. Still, there is more autoaim than in Halo 3, which as Ronsauce said, is quite annoying at times. The game becomes more random than it already is.

It was in the beta for MW1.. maybe they took it out. I've heard others talk about it (NeoGAF).. but they could be full of shit.

Yea.. I suspect not. I haven't played COD SP on Xbox since COD3, but the auto-aim was ridiculous in that game's campaign.

Auto-aim can be really counter productive at times too. I can't tell you how many times Halo 3 has decided that I'm tracking the wrong target.. you'll be rattling off headshots at range w/ the BR and then all of a sudden your camera sticks to a player that runs in front of your target. It's very annoying.

yes, there's a bit of adhesion, that's the only thing. and it actually disturbs more than it helps. countless times i'm aiming down the ironsight at someone on the background, when someone else passes in front of me and the adhesion takes my aim out of my target and "pulls" me a bit torwards him.

Yea, seems to be able to shoot through buildings and everything.

Game really shoulda been called selecting host warfare, dont think ive had a single game today that hasnt switched host at least once, had several that switched 3+ times, including 1 that switched during the final killcam.
