Zapp Brannigan: If we can hit that bull's-eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards...Checkmate.
Game really shoulda been called selecting host warfare, dont think ive had a single game today that hasnt switched host at least once, had several that switched 3+ times, including 1 that switched during the final killcam.
but i do think the game, at least here in central europe, is very laggy, Cod4 wasn't
Overall I like the game, I like the SP and co-op, and even MP is fun.. Although the (Xbox Live-like) system behind it still completly sucks, only advantage I can think of is that you now can make a party with friends and join a server.. But things like not being able to join friends that are already in a game etc is just pathetic.. The gameplay in MP sometimes feels to arcady, with lots of people running arround like crazy, bunnyhopping, knifing, and using akimbo weapons.. Perks like increasing melee distance and faster running etc don't help with that.. But overall I still enjoy the game..

I have to admit, I'm a little happy to see COD4 overtaking MW2 on Xfire this week. Back to #2 for MW1.
But now that I've experienced the console-like online system myself and found it very dissapointing, I don't think I'll buy the next CoD game if it has the same online system again.. Then it's really time to say 'no' to their new policy.. And lets hope a lot of PC gamers will do the same (although I doubt it will make a difference with these multiplatform games these days)..

I think i have stood in poo
I just expect a bit of fairness in the game and not to be burdened with the loss when i inevitably bail out of a sinking ship that i had no control over joining. Used to be you could join a sever in spectator mode to guage whether you wanted to be part of it or not, thats another tradition thats fallen by the wayside.

No need to ragequit and cry about it :P
Not that I think quitting a COD game should be punished btw... but then again the COD pubs I'm used to are 24 rounds of S&D.. and that can last a while.. sometimes you just run out of steam.
Its a game play to have FUN! swear since World of Warcraft most players have forgotten this golden rule.

I was on the submarine stage playing Sabotage and the other team didn't even try to arm the bomb for the most part, just camped. Guys were 32 and 3. It's all dependent on the situation. Times like that where people are obv being dbags you should be able to depart.
I don't play games to get angry either, I just want them to be fun and challenging without being cheap and frustrating.
A game where the higher your rank, the more advantages you have, is a system set up for some frustrations.
I'll gladly wait for BC2. Dedicated servers, balanced guns and vehicles, deeper gameplay mechanics, better graphics and sound. Too bad the dickheads at Activision have my money already...
The double shotties are lame, as are some of the knife perks. Then again why not run a riot shield against shotties ... The M16 is way toned down according to everyone else I know who played 4. So far you want to remove snipers, shotties, the M16, and grenade launchers.
I played a lot of CoD4 on the PC, and I would summerize it as: all the guns are lethal. Map control is important as is taking good lines of site for shots. At 8 hours I am still seeing new maps and have only played a couple modes. But as I get back into it my KDR is rocketing up and things I thought were frustrasting before are EASILY countered.

seta cg_ScoresPing_Interval "10"
seta cg_ScoresPing_MaxBars "10"
It will change the green bars on the scoreboard from 4 to to 10 where every bar represents 10ms.. If you see 9 bars your ping is 10ms, 8 bars = 20ms, 7 = 30ms etc etc.. So the more bars you have the better your connection is to the host of the game.. You'll be shocked to seen how high the average ping is of people your playing with.. Last night I had several games where *everybody* except the host (not me!) had 1 single red bar, meaning everyone was playing with ping 100+..
Pathetic for any game in 2009 that takes itself serious as a PC FPS game.. Obviously MW2 doesn't.. Dedicated servers are simply required to offer a good stable low latency online experience.. They should have built in dedicated server support in their new matchmaking system (or the other way arround, whatever).. But I guess that was to much effort for only 10-15% of their total market, simply copying over the consolesystem was easier and cheaper for them.. To bad yet another PC FPS developer has lost it, that leaves only Valve as the last of the great FPS developers on PC.. For how long?
