I was playing last night and something funny happened,its not that big a deal but it was strange,so in my town there was a thunderstorm right well I was going to TL and I stopped at the Mcfarlane ranch to save,right after I save I went on my way and a thunderstorm went lose in the game,it was so freaky outside my real house was exactly teh same as in the game

And then after I was done with some stranger quests,I wanted to do the challenge that is "kill 2 cougars with the knife" and not one I encountered not a single one can you believe it? when you least expected you are killed by one and now I was looking for them and nothing

Then I proceeded to Mexico because I had nothing left to do in New Austin and I get a not so warm welcome by a good 50 mexicans LOL

But the real deal came after that,as soon as I jump to my horse and went uphill a song kicked in it was just sublime I was there at the top of some hill at night,beautifull stars in the sky,beautifull moon,some lights at the distance in what appeared to a be a town,and that kickass song playing...oh man I got goosebumps all over me,one of the best moments in my entire gaming life and IMO one of the best moments in gaming history.

If the game ends now I would feel satisfied,Im at 22 hours with 33% done and I still have much to go,one of the best games ever made qithout a doubt,not a single bad thing I have encountered in here nor Ive feel bored not one minute,just going from one place to another in my horse its an awesome thing on its own.

I really liked that moment in Mexico too. The game is so full of WIN, it's crazy. I know what you mean about the games uncanny ability to deny you from finding the animals you are looking for. Trying to find 5 friggin' beavers was sooo damn annoying. Not to mention getting ambushed by multiple cougars that would kill me right as I found my beavers. This happened 3 times! I was even assailed by 5 friggin' bears when when I was actually looking I couldn't find one. Thankfully, bears are easier to kill than those damn cougars. Easily a GOTY contender. Maybe a GOAT (Game of all time!), lol..

Seriously, what on earth were you doing all the time? At the 22 hour mark I was past Mexico and have done everything there is to do, and I took my sweet time, too.

And yeah, those 5 beavers were a pain in the ass. That's probably where the game completely broke apart for me. Did 1 more main mission and since then couldn't be even bothered to put it in and finish it.

I never use quick travel,Im doin every sidemission available at the moment,I dont do story missions unless I had nothing more to do in wich case I have the challenges and those are kinda hard like the cougars,and the treasures are time consuming too because I have to look everywhere in every angle possible in that location.

Sometimes I play for a long periods of time Horseshoes or Poker,I love those games.

Im in no hurry though I like to enjoy the vistas like yesterday I spent like 1/2 hour just at the epic entrance of Mexico just taking it all in.

I just got to the mexico part. The song was by Joze Gonzalez I believe. Really cool moment. I like it when games use music in unexpected ways.

I need cougars for teh challenge and so far its been like 5 in game days and nothing!!

The game has an uncanny ability to know what you are looking for, and not provide it- hence my earlier beaver quest, lol. Check your map, and go to where the pic of the cougar is and lay down some bait, it usually works.

On a different note- I finally got my Legend of the West outfit! Woot!...

Man sometimes this game just looks stunning!

Yup.. It may not be the best tech in terms of resolution in textures etc, but the way they use the engine to create effects and the whole Wild West setting and atmosphere is simply amazing, it really feels like you're in the Wild West (like we know from the movies).. Especially when playing on a big HDTV in 1080p it looks very good.. :P

And this coming from me, a oldskool PC gamer who is a bit of a graphicswhore, must mean something I think.. I have to say I was never really impressed by any Xbox 360 game when I played them on the same monitor I played my PC games on, they always looked uglier compared to my PC games, but now that I play on a 42" HDTV in 1080p it's a whole different experience.. If you don't play your Xbox 360 (or PS3) on a big HD screen yet, I really recommend it, it really makes a big difference..

Indeed. When i first got a 360 i was playing on a small TV, and when i bought a HDTV, what a change. Felt like i bought a new console :p

This game looks pretty good, the engine is great. And it's fun to play! I haven't played it in over two weeks, got some problem with TV or xbox, but should be looking into it soon, because i really want to finish it, and i think i wasn't that far from the end :(

Finally got a few hrs in on this game, as i have to say i'm very impressed.

Finally killed those cougars with the knife!!!!

and after a good 5 minutes I wont lie but there was literally like 10 freakin cougars one after the other after the other,good thing that saw barreled shotgun is powerfull Frozpot was right when you are not looking for them they are everywhere but when you do they hide LOL

Now I need beavers,where the hell are beavers I didnt even saw one in my 26 hours playtime how the hell Im suposed to find 5 if I dont even know where they are????

OH, you are going to lose your mind finding the Beavers, lol. The only place I could find them is along the River up north of the Great Plains and up into Tall Trees. Good luck, that was the only part I hated. Watch your back too, as those Fucking cougars and bears will be at you...

I have to move on with the story then,I havent unlocked that area yet.

Getting the 5 beavers was real easy for me tbh.. I was riding along the river up north of the Great Plains, it was raining heavily, and it was also crawling with beavers arround the riverbanks.. Guess I got lucky (beavers get out when raining?) :P

Need some advice on how to take down a bear with the knife.

Of the ambient challenges this is the only one left for me and Legend of teh West outfit should be mine!!

I want the US Army one though thats a one badass costume,I wthink I will do all teh bountys with that one and teh LOTW one!
