I asked and they said it's just linked to an in game clock, not a real time clock (system) which is too bad.
That's good news. It would be stupid, if people that are only able to play at night, would only see night on the game....

On a side note, i found this music at youtube, and hopefully game has a soundtrack simmilar to this, because it's awesome.

Placed in the role of reformed outlaw John Marston, I found myself smack dab in the middle of nowhere, my only clue a mini-map icon--"S" for Seth--that directed me northward. Fortunately, producer Rich Rosado recognized my mostly aimless wanderings, pulled up the full map and set up with a waypoint that, a la GTAIV, resulted in a guiding red line on the mini-map and a joking reference to old-time GPS.
After summoning my trusty steed with a whistle--up on the d-pad--I took off for my destination, inadvertently gunning down a few horse-riding civilians on the way.
What can I say, I thought they were bad guys. How was I supposed to know they weren't bad guys? Wasn't everyone in the wild west a bad guy? And while dead men tell no tales, survivors do, so I had to hunt down the one that got away before he could make it to the nearest town, rat me out, and cause the bounty on my head to go up.
He also teased that whatever sort of multiplayer component is included in Red Dead Redemption, it'll be unveiled within the next week, was made with both casual and hardcore players in mind, and takes the various criticisms of Grand Theft Auto IV's multiplayer modes taken into account.
Looking great, and soon news about MP, should be fun. :)

Yeah system clock based day/night would be shite. Maybe if it compressed it to one hour = one day so it would universally be the same time.

Below are a few new exclusive screenshots (from the official site) that show off just some of the challenges, to unlock achievements/trophies.

Full list of the achievements/trophies, will be revealed later today.


Capture a bounty alive for the "Clemency Pays" Achievement/Trophy.


Purchase a rare weapon (like the Mauser pistol) from a gunsmith to earn "Exquisite Taste".


Breaking an assortment of unique horses will get you the "Buckin' Awesome" Achievement/Trophy.


Getting a ringer in Horseshoes will yield the "What About Hand Grenades?" accomplishment.


Unlocking the Elegant Suit will get you the "He Cleans Up Well" Achievement/Trophy.

I don't see how this can be anything other than an insta-buy. This absolutely shits on GTA IV based on everything I've seen/read, and people were jizzing themselves over the release of that.

Unless you absolutely hate the Wild West setting, I see nothing here that doesn't warrant a purchase.

i agree. if it was any other setting i'd be gagging for it. but the first game was mediocre and it's set in the wild west. possibly my most hated setting in a game.

Hmmm I hope there is because how it plays in terms of shooting mechanics is what would push me either way. If it is essentially a normal shooter = good. If it is a laggy lock on action game meh.
