Yeah, it really took me by surprise as I didn't care much for the demo and I'm a more traditional SC fan. But while it might not be an old school SC I wanted, it was a very fun and very interesting and challenging action game with a lot of really fantastic little gameplay ideas. when things start to get really hectic the M'nE feature was SO fun and satisfying to pull off.

The story was good for Sam's personal stuff but still a little iffy on the poltical side, but all in all I was pretty impressed by the new direction and think it set the groundwork for what could be a really great sequal to this new take on the franchise.

Got this recently and finished it, all i gota say is wow! It was awesome. Very good game, really liked it.

Tried today those co-op (alone :P) missions they are awesome too. Will be replaying the campaign on realistic, liked it that much :)

It was never expected to be as good as this game is. Nowhere near this good, especially when you factor in the changes. They've gone and turned Splinter Cell from a trial and error game into something more like true stealth with so many interesting possibilities, and ways to approach a situation. It also represents some of the best level design I've seen in a game in ages. It doesn't sacrifice options, fun, and replayability for something that just looks good.

The overall story and character work was again on a level I wasn't expecting from a splinter cell game. I don't think even the most hardcore splinter cell fans expected a game as thoroughly rock solid as this. It isn't often a dev takes a risk this big, and it pays off in spades.

Don't even get me started on how the story of the game, or Sam's mood at the time, impacted the gameplay mechanics ;)

Sure, the demo was and the changes were, but then it came out and everyone went mum except a tiny few who played and liked it a lot. Me, Optimus and Lebato I believe.

People whined their faces out of shape about the demo, read some reviews and left it at that. If that's what you call post release talk then sure, I'm a liar.

For those that actually played the full game, ManFear went off on a tangent about how the flashback mission (straight shooter) should've been the whole game, and then Optimus, Lebato and I essentially carried the entire conversation about this game.

To be honest, I never considered myself a BIG Splinter Cell Fan. My love of the series is all thanks to Chaos Theory which is my favourite and I did like Pandora Tomorrow. Double Agent, however, killed whatever passion I had for the series, sadly. I have conviction and its wrapped along with 5 other games I have yet to touch :S Everything gets bumped down the list once an action adventure game or a JRPG is released. This year has been full of the former and the second onslauht is coming (enslaved, Castlevania) so I dont see myself playing Conviction any time soon but I will definately be in good time.

Man, Fisher sure took some tips from Bauer in this one.

Loving the game so far - even the flashback mission in Iraq, which some critics weren't particularly fond of.
