So what are the advantages of dual wielding? I mean, do you get more hits in fastr or what's the deal? I mean i guess it looks cool and all but what makes it viable compared to, say, two handed weapons or sword and shield?

Speed, and critical bonuses I'm guessing. In the skill tree you get bonuses for two strike attacks. Hitting both at the same time tends to do a lot more than just swinging one after the other. But I haven't used a greatsword.

Hold down both triggers and you do a powerful double attack, which takes down enemies pretty quickly. Plus you get quick attacks in as each one is part of your one-handed skill. It's a useful tactic, for sure.

I specialize in dual wielding :D

Its the most badass combat way in melee IMO.
Hold both triggers like Blmbox said to do a multiple slash, do a quick tap and hold release you can do one slash with both.

I am using a steel dagger and a steel sword, both upgraded to (superior).
The reason why I took a steel dagger is because you swing faster with that than say a one handed axe or a sword.

Two handed weapons are SLOW, powerful, but obviously too slow (for me anyways. Not even in the same pace of Dragon Age 2 speed).
Shield and sword is great because you can BLOCK, something you cant do with dual wield.

If you upgrade block perks, you can time your block with the enemy attack and their attack will slow down for you to bash them with the shield, so it a advantage obviously.
And with shield you can do power bash to stagger the enemy.

Also, I want to know if someone has done a finisher were the enemies head gets decapitated? lol
I have alot of finishers, but non of them chops the head! Though I did get my head cut off by a bandit plunder (bastard was hard).

I dont know what buff i got or where i got it from, but i love fighting magic casters, they fill my mana bar up :) i just end up heal with left hand and fry them with the right hand :D
a lot of hard battles was one this way lol

also respec i would like to know if they have or planning this, as grift said, its a long game.. but so far happy with my build, raising the dead and burning everyone is ace :D is the fire pet any good? because that frost dude looks fucking awesome :D also how long they last? 60 seconds like the undead untill specced higher?

Glad i went with magic, because the weopen "contact" is horrid, magic is very satisfying.

Also fire rune.. seriously this thing is awesome, 1 hit wonder on most.

Finished another mamouth playthrough and i'm yet to even meet the Greybeards :), loving this game, just the exploring and finding new cool camps/caves/tombs/dungeons ect..., shame i'm back to work tomorrow, gonna have to do 2hr stints now :(

The DLC already has my money day one!!! :)

I've got it as a side quest at the moment - saving it for later though. I can't quite remember how it's activated, but I think it's when you enter a certain town and a townsfolk tells you about it.

EDIT: Ah, just remembered. It's unlockable during the main questline. I think it's when you go to Riften? to find Esbern.

In other news, still haven't decided whether to join the Legion or the Stormcloaks. I'm edging towards the latter as I love rebellion, but not quite sure yet. I'm currently going through the Companions storyline - Werewolves yay!

So have the really dumbed down the speechcraft in this game, I have only had a few situations where i have been able to persaude people and no times to bride.

Also what about Mercantile, I wana open a shop to sell all this crap for a decent price, don't tell me I need to buy a hosue first /sigh

There is some really stupid AI in this game also, I got to Solitude, there was someone being executed i stepped on the platform and all the guards started attacking me, then the whole town turns against me.

You do realize if you do not meet the Greybeards you dont get an upgrade to your force shout and wind sprint shout right?

I have it maxed out so its "Fus' Ro' Da"!
Its like SW Force Unleashed Force Push power when you shout that, love it!

Though I got to say, sometimes when I want to use a shout it doesnt work, even if I have picked the shout I want and I can use it, happened several times :(

Seems Stormcloaks wants Skyrim to be free while the imperials are pretty much the "Darth Vader" troops type (which I dont like). No idea about the Legions, dont know much about them.

Cool.
Trust me, the level 3 of the force push (which i call it lol) will push back ANYONE and make them fall back and take a while to recover.
Though considering its extremely powerful it takes longer time to recharge.

So, if you have lvl2 or 3, the more you hold the button the stronger.

I got frost shout as well, but its lvl1, I want fire shout because i really like the effect in this game.

I ran into an Ice Troll. That was a tough fight. Had to use all my magicka on healing and flames while retreating and shooting arrows. Then I used Shouts to stun it and slash it to death. Tough.

I died like 8 times until I said screw it, i will be back when i am in higher level lol, and that was my two handed build lol.
But my dual wielded rogue I managed to kill it.

Poison the weapon with venom, have your shout, fire and healing potion ready.
Do a quick few attacks and stay close and when the troll is about to hit, go back quick so it misses. In and out, like boxing lol.

You are set considering they cant regenerate from fire as quickly as normal.

Funny the ice trolls drop like a sack of potatoes for me, I am using fire magic mind (I'm guessing that must be why), the normal trolls on the other hand they take a bit of fighting.
