Sweet!

Think i'll stay on Adept as the Dragon fights are hard enough for me, i do love them though, such a great change of pace and excitement :D
Personally I find dragon fights irritating as they hardly ever land. Playing on adept all I have to do when they land is use my elemental fury shout (tier 1) and thrash its face with my two blades and its over. Bears and Trolls take more of a beating than them...

That said enjoying the game loads! Bar the odd time when my companion refuses to jump down from somewhere or gets stuck on some minor piece of the terrain.

I'm personally loving the Dragon fights, i get all giddy when the music ramps up on and the battle is on!, the follower mechanic on the other hand can be really frustrating at times, always getting caught in the traps or setting the traps off and getting me killed, the bastards!

Apart from that this game is amazing.

And then people complain that gaming ain't what it used to be. "Them dreeegenz are awesome te fight! With the muisc pumpin and they looks all cool and shit! It's so epic!" No matter that a pissed of bear is more of a fight or that the AI is completely retarded, cuse it's big, and bombastic and that's all that really matters, right?

How about you leave those that are enjoying the Dragon battles to enjoy the battles, instead of trying to belittle them with your asshole sarcastic comments, now theirs a thought!

Not really sure why he gets so riled up at people enjoying the game, but just leave him be.

In other news, just did an awesome finishing move with my dual wielding (axe and sword). Slice him across the chest so he was down on his knees, before slicing his head clean off. Bloodthirsty!

But it's bloody well true. You can't drum up the return of the dragons as the end of the human race when the goddamn wildlife is by far a bigger threat. How is that not an epic fail? I feel more empowered after beating a bear or a mammoth than after slaying a freaking dragon. Bears have killed me, more than once. A dragon has never been close.

Sure enjoy them if you will, but at least admit that you enjoy it becasue you think it's badass to slay dragons rather than the actual encounter being interesting or fun in itself.

Blm: i get pissed becasue people are praising the game on almost solely superficial merits. Bethsoft givea Oblivion a face lift, add some big "Cool" enemies and all of a sudden it's the best game ever madde even though 90% of the flaws are still there. It annoys me a LOT. It's like people are barely thinking about what it is they are playing at all, so long as it's big, loud and pretty that's all that really matters.

Yeah i know but talking shit about someone else's experience is stupid, all my dragon fights have been epic and been killed in a few of them, I have yet be killed by a mammoth or bear lol..., anyway that's an awesome finisher I take it you have a high two handed skill level?

Misses could be the misses ;)

I did find myself thinking that it would be cool to play with someone else, that way one could focus on mage play and another on combat.

I have a high one-handed skill level, as dual wielding goes into that skill tree. I'm guessing it's the 'Savage Strike' perk which causes the decapitation finisher.

No, not really. The game is engrossing, enthralling, capitivating - whatever you want to call it. It sucks you into its world and makes you forget about its flaws for the most part; none of which, to be fair, I would consider 'major' faults in any case. The world is always the protagonist in games like these, so why simply label it 'superficial' when it's so much more than that?

But the most important fact is that, taking the 'superficial' out of it, I'm having a great deal of fun with Skyrim. I'm loving the combat (dual wielding kicks ass) and, niggles aside - shock, horror, it isn't perfect - it's a fantastic game that I feel warrants the attention it's been getting.

Why is that so hard to take? People can enjoy the game in whatever means they want... and if people wanna call it GOTY they can (I certainly am).

Honest to god I have not come across one single bug in my time played. Which is 24+ hours. The game hasn't crashed once either. Did they claim this was a new engine though? Because it is blindingly obvious that it is the same one as oblivion and the fallout games. While I have yet to play a quest that is better than anything in oblivion, I am absolutely loving the game. I just love to walk through the wilderness and enjoy the sights and sounds. The music....Oh god the music. It is absolutely incredible. I often stop dead in my tracks just to listen to it. This is already my GOTY. Only Arkham City could beat it, I just need to finish it.

Agree with what Grift said about the dragon AI, I just had one land on a rock it slipped off and died, kind of like the mammoth the other day, well at least it was an easy kill

And when I say a rock it was about 2 feet high.

I guess thats more an issue with physics than AI perhaps anyways.

Dragons are pretty puny as well I stumbled on one having a fight with a saber cat thingy and it was losing lol (mind you sabers can 2 shot me >.>)

Dragons
Yeah.. they're only challenging when you fight them solo and that's more of a matter of figuring out which tree to hide behind so he can never hit you.. or just waiting for several damn minutes while he flies around in circles (occasionally straight into a mountain). Maybe when I can take them down in a few hits they'll be less of a nuisance, but at this moment they are easily the weak link here. I fought two more last night and one took forever because I just had to sit there and watch his complete lack of interest for most of the fight. Fun stuff!

Since Dragons hardly make up the majority of the gameplay, I'm going to go ahead and say this is the biggest flaw in the game. I'm not sure I really like the dumbed down exploration too--showing you everything on the compass seems to cheapen the experience of actually finding stuff to me.

I think everyone who is playing it thinks the positives outweigh the negatives. People just aren't blinded by hype and can see that there are quite a few things holding this game back.

I haven't finished The Dark Brotherhood yet, but all indications are that Oblivion had better faction quests. To be honest.. in matters of quest and character New Vegas really holds up quite well next to this.

And no thoughts on Enchantment or Smithing. Anyone have a surefire way to increase enchanting? I know crafting daggers is the way to go. Enchantment seems like the harder thing to grind.

I hope I find some better shouts soon. I'm exactly half way through the main quest (I checked a list of quest names without getting too spoilerific), and I now have close to a dozen unspent souls because there's been nothing nearly as interesting to me as Unrelenting Force or Whirlwind Sprint. Everything else seems sorta lame, and they take forever to cool down, so it's not like you're going to be quickly switching between shouts anyway. I might make a point out of finding another good shout tonight.

The pacing in this game is pretty good by the way. That's one positive. I'm level 19 and I'm 50% through the main quest. To put a little perspective on that, I was level 14 when I beat the main quest for the first time in New Vegas. I did rush a little harder there, but I still think this game has better pacing.

So people that talk about having a great time with the game, are blinded by Hype??, there are negatives in all great games, but most people that are enjoying them choose to talk about the great time there having, this does not mean they are blinded by Hype.

Making up excuses, whining about people complaining about certain flaws, an unusual willingness to ignore or deny flaws exist, etc.. yeah.. blinded by hype.

And yet all you guys seem to want to do is either talk about how damn good walking around is.. LETS TALK SKILLS OR GAMEPLAY OR SOMETHING. Man the music! The air quality! It's astounding! Circle-jerking hype makes people want to discuss the negative. You guys have the positive covered and then some.

I love quite a few things about this game. For a game with some seriously shitty textures, it looks much better than previous Bethesda games. Some of it plays better too. The pacing, the amount of content so closely crammed together.. it's all good stuff. The result is something that is maybe their best game. And hey, in a generation of games where nearly everything is a downgrade from where we've come, that's a pretty big complement.

I mean. It's the best thing since sliced bread.

Has anyone come up with a character builder for this game? I guess you don't really need once, since it all comes down to those perk points. There are 50 levels, and 50 perk points, right?
