You know what I find pretty strange? I have not seen a single Mammoth! I've been in almost every corner of Skyrim by now too. Weirdness.

Hell, Oblivion's awkward interface was bad enough, but at least it allowed you to see almost everything at a glance. And sure, Bethesda, take away my stats, but at least allow me to see what I am wearing and equipped with inside the menus? The bonuses I have? Anything? No? And so I have to exit the menu system to look at my character? And I also have scroll through everything just to see what I am carrying? And even when you are clicking about in the menu there's a huge margin of error with a mouse, that most precise of pointing devices? Come on, Bethesda, this is not the future of RPG interface design we were promised.

Having to work so hard to see what your equipment, stats, etc. is a serious step backwards. Coming right off of Fallout though, it's hard to get worked up about the UI. It's certainly no worse than Pip-Boy.

The idea that this game might be perfect by the time I'm finished it is a bit discouraging. I mean, don't get me wrong.. I'm enjoying it plenty right now. I just doubt I'll have the energy to play it again once modders work all the kinks out. And that's a shame, because I could have had a better experience if I waited a month or two.

Try and go near the icon that shows a head with bones on the compass, they are usually there with the giants.
But they are random yes, difficulty as hell.

Yeah, it's strange. I've seen loads of Giants and lots of their bones.. I'll keep an eye out for them tonight. They're not exactly a top priority anyway. I've reached a point in the main quest where I think hunting for some words might be my next logical step.

I've been leveling up (mostly stamina, wasted a little on magic early on) and I have far fewer leftover perks now that my archery hit 60 (which opened up a lot of new archery perks).

The full version of unrelenting force also fucks up pretty much anything that's not a dragon.

No health upgrades? thats pretty important too you know.

And yes, the full version of Unrelenting Force is crazy, reminds me of The Force Unleashed game.

Slight HP upgrades.. but I've found stamina to mean much more to me w/ ranged combat anyway. I've had no problems facing Frost Trolls or Dragons so far.

What does the stamina do? Let you stay zoomed in longer and run away?
I've got a lvl 23 fire-wielding archer and I've yet to upgrade my stamina at all.

Increasing Stamina also increases your max carry weight by 5 each time, useful for hauling loot =)

Stamina lets you sprint longer, carry more stuff, and power attacks with melee (the more stamina the less you use stamina, needs to add perks in the attack slots as well for various attacks).

With archery, you need to unlock the normal archery perk, then work yourself up to leveling it up, on the far left of the archery slot there is one perk that lets you zoom in, next to it on right there is one that slows the enemies movement.

Btw, if you guys didnt know, you can give them health potions and they will use it.
I didnt know they could, I thought they were just your sidekick helper and cargo carrier lol.

So what I do is I give them like 5 health potions (not the big ones of course, those are MINE! lol), then they will use it once in need.

Archery note: I'm actually skipping the second level of the slowdown perk. It's too slow.

For archery specifically, zoom, but I'm also playing single handed combat. I thought about subbing magic instead of melee, but I don't feel like I'm going to have enough perks. Archery is pretty greatly enhanced by alchemy, and everything is enhanced by smithing and enchanting. I still don't know if I'm going to have enough perks. I feel like this game restricts your choices a little. You still have as many (if not more) options, but your forced to really specialize. Though perks have massively different impacts on different skills. Some skills are borderline useless without them (and will probably be worse in the end game) and some really don't require any perks at all to improve greatly.

I can't imagine ever actually needing lockpick perks. I don't think I need sneak either, but it's very tempting. That forward roll would be great.. as would silent walking/running.

I made sure to get the Deadly Aim perk in the Sneak skill tree. Three times the damage on sneak bow attacks has been quite handy.

Snesking mskes everything aside from wild animals and boss encounters dead easy. I usually kill most baddies in one or two hits, and usually i don't cet detected either so the next shmuck in line gets the same treatment. Backstabs with blades seems infinitely more finnecky. Its almost 50/50 for me.

At any rate, sneaking has been points well spent for me.

How do you lose a follower?

I walked around. She disappeared. She's not dead because no one else will follow me. She's probably stuck on (or in) a friggin' rock somewhere.
Ah, the joys of playing a pc-game. But I only think it's fair that the PC version got the bugs, because it's the "best" looking. But this game proves one thing. You can accept a lot of flaws, if the core mechanics are that good. Of how many games can you say that?

Love it, if only I had more time to play :(

Somehow i imagine that the pathfinding is the same (kinda weird and random) no matter what version you get. I mean i've had monsters stuck on small obstacles MANY times as well, so i assume that it might well hapen to companions too.
