I do so much damage on a dragon with the bow that if they fly they will crashland soon afterwards lol :P

MY dude's a total bad-ass, lol. I think it's cool that I still can't wade into baddies and still have to use a bit 'o strategy. I'm not sure what the hubbub is about the Frost Trolls- I've never had any trouble with them (or any trolls for that matter). I'm big on managing long through short range: my favorites list is so big I just go to inventory/magic half the time. Thankfully, using a controller makes navigating the menus a breeze. Also, if you have your favorite weapon combo (ie sword and shield) tagged with numbers and selected (on PC at least), you can use the left and right D-pads for quick swaps between bow and melee. I love sword and shield combat! I've got something like ten shouts now :) LOVE this game...

I have 14 shouts (29 words total) and 28 unspent dragon souls. I've only actually bothered to unlock a few of those shouts.

yeah that's what I hate. You level up too quick in the game and once you reach a certain level everything becomes too easy.

Anyway, What are some good MODs out there. (I heard some have been disabled due to the recent update)

I started thinking of something (combat), its not a rant but more as an observation or understanding it in a different way. But I wont drag this topic much but something I thought was interesting to mention.

Maybe the bad hit reaction from enemies during normal attacks is done on purpose?

Think about it...
The hit reaction is spot on when you do shield bash, power attacks, do a final kill blow (not a finisher) and kill with an arrow.
But all of a sudden that goodness is gone when you do normal attacks, doesnt make any sense.

So I thought, maybe its done on purpose so it makes you be more prepared ad have a fighting chance as much as the enemy do.
Kind of like Dragon Age. Opponents keep hitting eachother until one falls, so depending on skill, level, stat it all matters who has the upperhand.

With this mentiality, if true (which I cant think of any other reason), I can let it slide.
I am already doing back and forth one-two hit attacks on enemies that takes more hits and do blocks...etc.

I dont know, something that crossed my mind.

Even archery is getting boring to me because I am not the type who is sneaky/stealth and long range archery, I am more get into the action and do sword fights and do finishing moves type.
I will just continue my level 17 dual wield character and just deal with it lol

Okay, so teh story was unexpectedly short and the end very unclimactic. I don't know what i expected after Oblivion but really...well at elast now i've confirmed that you can keep playing after doing hte main quest.

Alright I am somewhat enjoying the dual wield.

But I have a question...how the fuck am I suppose to kill Daugr Death Overlords!?
I had a real hard time to kill the one with the Ebony Bow, the one with the warhammer version is just nasty as hell.

I mean, their shouts throw me off my feet or sometimes disarm me which was really annoying.

I am level 16 now, do you guys know what level is the good ideal time to face them?

I havent maxed out the one-handed skilltree with the swords and dualwielding, but I am one rank below to be able to upgrade to 80% damage.

Use a shield. If you time it right, your shield-bash cancels power strikes...

Shield huh, I dont have any points on that, I dont even have a shield, I keep selling the ones I come by.
I am focusing all my perks on the one handed skilltree. The swords and the axe points.

I think the One Handed skilltree is very weak, the only skill that shows a good change is the faster dual wield attacks-
I am not seeing much change like I was when I was using archery.

For example the decapitation, 15% chance? c'mon on...it should be atleast 25 or 30%, I am barely seeing any finishers and I have not seen decapitation at all.

I've had quite a few decapitation finishers... the more powerful you make your dual wielding the more likely it is to happen.

There was a period when I was seeing like 2 or 3 in a row. :D

I can do 80% damage now, I have added a perk to my axes for bleeding, 2 perks for critical damage for the swords, maxed out the speed of my dual wielding.
I wish you could block with the dual wielding, hold both weapons infront of you, I guess they ran out of buttons on the controller :P

Really enjoying the Mage quest, going to concentrate on the Main story after to start moving the game along, as i keep getting side tracked explorig all the new locations i keep finding.

I find the combat to be MUCH more fun with the shield- it feels more strategic and it's extremely useful even on offense. It's probably why I have had zero problems with trolls and such. Even dragons stagger when you hit them with it. Shield= awesome!

If I was doing more melee combat I'd definitely use a shield. Higher armor rating + shield bash ftw, etc..
