And VF5 isn't that main stream, its sucessful but hardly a killer app and the Japanese have already been playing this game in the Arcades for over a year.
So it's hardly the killer title people are claiming it to be.
And it's not often i find myself saying that :P
Marumaro for the WIN !!

First month sales should rival GRAW, Oblivion, etc from this time last year. Similar fan base sizes (if not bigger for VF) and similar time frame and platform competition and quality matrix. Both of the games trended for the 1m range in their first 6 months, which based on past VFs should do likewise.

Best Batman MV Ever!
I haven't been in an Arcade in about 2 years..
Arcades are dead in the west, besides gambling maybe :S
Marumaro for the WIN !!
But it is true, that arcade gaming as a whole isn't as popular as it was before, in America that is.

Virtua Fighter :(
This is partially Sega's fault, for not doing the game (and the arcade cabinets) more justice in the US, but whatever.
A lot of great American players play at places like Chinatown Fair (CTF) in NYC, which is hardly anything like the extravagant arcades of Japan. It just goes to show though, a dedicated gamer just needs a machine to play on and a place to do it. No frills required.
Not that I wouldn't want an awesome Japanese arcade right down the street.
Continuation of this thread will lest have effect on VF5 sales but hey you said that it would so it must. Damn are you the all knowing moderator, can anyone compete with you.
I'm not letting this thread turn into a discussion about other peoples posting habits.
But lets get back to Japan and Virtua Fighters poor showing.
