Everyone here likes the game and you have to come in bashing it!
You sir, are no gamer! :p
Alcohol and drugs and my biggest fans. They follow me where ever i go.
What are we going to do when videogame AI gets too good? We'll have the crap scared out of us. What if when coming out of that pod there was a splicer directly on top of it that would jump out at you?
Damn it the game is totally against the kind of games I like to play, but I may end up being forced to buy this :/ I really want to find out how it all ends.

COD 4's pre-alpha stage looks better than most game's gone gold stage.
E3 2K7- best. e3. ever.
Saying you cant find animaton in Japan is like saying you cant find food in Italy. Its simply not true.

WARNING... I read on another site, to not read the text or forward, because of spoilers.
Elizabeth Tobey, the official site manager for Bioshock, always wanted to include an art book in the limited edition of the title but they just couldn't manage it. Probably because of the whopping Big Daddy figure taking up all the space, eh? So they're doing the next best thing by offering it up online and for free.
Available in both low and high resolution packages, Bioshock: Breaking the Mold weighs in with over sixty pages of the most beautiful PDF files you may ever see. One warning for would-be downloaders: skip the foreword. Apparently, it contains spoilers direct from Ken Levine himself.
For those still downloading the demo, we suggest snagging this first, creating a flip book and taking a bath with it. It'll feel just like Rapture!

Having played System Shock II, I'm just happy to see so many similarities. The "checkpoints" where you revive, etc etc.
The audio is incredible, the graphics are amazing, the gameplay is unlike anything else, and the story seems to be awesome as well. What else can I ask for?
Buying this one for sure :D

The first time, I thought I had to fight the turret and hide from the camera.. I got my arse kicked downstairs. What a difference that makes.
I wish they'd do some viral marketing (and i hate marketing!) with "The Rapture Times." Give me some background and what not..
I can't believe how many of us here love this either. The popularity isn't shocking--just the idea of a game (almost) everyone on GSYDE agrees on.
Halle Berry: Delgado i am feeling really reall dirty tonight, shall i call Jessica Simpson for a threesome?
Delgado: HALLE what have i told you about bothering me when i'm playing Mass Effect!!! now get out and dont come back for 2 months!! (Slams door

"You're being arrested for drunk driving."
"Drunk definitely, I don't know if you could call it driving."

Oh, another thing i loved (this comes back to the Fable 2 thread and Mollineux's new concept of dying) was how you die, how this feels "in the world". I mean, like usually you die in and you "go back in time" so to speak, you are allowed to retry, the same places and same creatures. Here, you are revived, but you don't have to kill all the same creatures again that you already killed before you died, the world continues while you are being revived.Maybe not exactly new, but petty cool, doesn't feel so fake in a sense. Another thumbs up!
I look at Bioshock and I know it looks brilliant, but it sorta reminds me of an old russia/new york/germany type atmosphere thing and its represented even in the clothes the characters wear. The game takes place in 1961 right? Well Bioshock as it is now is probably something I'd gladly watch a movie of, but it isn't the kind of world I ever look forward to getting involved with in a videogame. Its like honeymooners, i love lucy, gotham city with no batman but in a very twisted yet impressive manner.
Pretty much think of it in the sense of the types of movies a person would like to watch. Some may be a fan of an old russian crime or mystery drama while others may prefer something that seems more modern or more fantasy. If its inspired by old days it has to be a certain type of old to catch my interest.
A good example of this would be Oblivion thats in no way my type of game. Its usually the type of thing I'd pass on, but I ended up caving and purchasing it and I did enjoy it quite a bit and downright loved it at times, but I hit a point where i just lost interest. From what I played of Bioshock I don't see that happening with Bioshock, but its still not exactly to my taste it would be a major departure for me. The best way I can probably describe it is that it has a lot to do with the setting and time period. First glance at something like Gladiator or Assassin's Creed I think whoa cool, awesome. I look at Bioshock I think very impressive, looks very atmospheric, well imagined but not my thing.
With all that said I may once again go against my policy like I did with Oblivion and get a game that I know going in isn't something that I normally go nuts for, but I am very interested in how it all ends up. I was very interested in how things end up for Oblivion too, but the way that was presented to me I lost interest easy and stopped caring after awhile. From what I saw of bioshock so far it appears as if it might be able to more than hold my interest. Like I said hard to really put into words, but bioshock does kick ass :)
The scene when I first went down to rapture and I saw the beautiful scene I had second thoughts right then thinking... impressive, but I don't know if it can hold my interest. Then when I finally got in and saw my frist splicer murder someone I again thought.. "I don't like stuff like this might just turn it off now and not bother trying to play" Its weird. Or maybe its cause I'm scared down in that place? haha not sure. I was scared shitless in every oblivion dungeon =P I was way too scared to play through doom 3 started and just had to stop cause it was getting too creepy for my taste. Maybe I'm just a big scaredy cat and thats why these games put me off. If I were really in one of these places I wouldn't be walking around at all I'd actually find myself a nice place I thought was safe and just stay there permanently.

For me on the other side this is precisely my cup of tea, bioshock i mean. This retro-futurist i would call it. i love the sci.fi classics, and this seems to have it all, 1984 but with the mood i imagined it (as opposed to, for example, HALO, which i find and this is my opinion, a bit insipid in terms or art direction and settings).
I got a very similar feeling with the MYST (only played IV, but specially V), you know a bit sci fi, a bit retro. It gives it an aura of detachment from a real timeline and real space.
But there you go, in the end it's just a matter of personal taste, to each it's own.
You are right delgado I may also just end up making an exception for this one as well who knows.

If Lair wasen't good I have always 90 days to return it back and get my money back :D.
Besides I have 550 value in coupons so I won't be broke, the rest of the money is going to pay off the Ps3.
Non the less...BioShock is AWESOME, and I love Rapture, and the whole atmosphere is great, because some part of me has always loved the good old art deco 50-60's, so it's gonna be awesome.
Playing: ???
