Well I got a check for tax refund of 4000 today, so I am gonna pre-order BioShock CE only for the soduntrack (as a OST nut as I am), and then buy HS next month and then Lair.

If Lair wasen't good I have always 90 days to return it back and get my money back :D.
Besides I have 550 value in coupons so I won't be broke, the rest of the money is going to pay off the Ps3.

Non the less...BioShock is AWESOME, and I love Rapture, and the whole atmosphere is great, because some part of me has always loved the good old art deco 50-60's, so it's gonna be awesome.

WTF!!! How can any store allow you to play a game for 90 days then bring it back if you dont like it!!! tell me the name of that store and i'll buy all my games from there from now on.

Well we get something good from the fellows here. I am keeping bioshock CE and HS for sure, but Lair is a must play before I decide to keep it (can't rent here :S *Sweden*)

Who knows, if I play it and complete it in 90 days i will return it and say, I dont want it :P or maybe less, depending on if the entire game holds up for ME.

I have yet to decide if I should get it or not, I am still on the last section if I should call tomorrow to pre-order or not.

OMG 90 days, in that time i could finish every single player campaign of every game on my 360 without a problem and i would probably have checked Multiplayer out aswell! If a game wasn't to my liking then it would be returned with in that period...

Instead the longest return time we get here is a week...

I've got a lot of 360 games here gathering dust that i either finished and didn't touch afterwards or that i was playing the game half-way through and lost interest in it...

Hehehe guys you should know that I did that in the old days on Xbox, until they changed the system, but that was on EBGames :P

But yeah I kept going from Far Cry Instincts, Indigo Prophecy, Psi-Ops...etc. kept switching with 6 games, and everytime I came back they said something like "why do you keep changing the games", and Ieither said, its too short or it was bad :P.

Until I think on my 6th they said this is your last time, we cant keep switching :P

but yeah, I don't usually do this, but for Lair I have to,it's one of those games that I have to play it to really know if i want to keep it or not. So far it "looks" and sounds great, with sounds its more on the soundtrack section.

You're right Op.. that must have been hard to put into words, 'cause I don't get it. So it's the setting that bothers you.. because it's old fashioned? The games going to deliver on it's story and gameplay. And it's all set in an interesting, unique and even more importantly immersive setting. How could that ever be a bad thing, regardless of the time period?

The world needs more steam punk anyway.

P.S. Who cares about 90 days? It's all about 70 plasmids!

I agree totally that the game looks like its going to deliver on story and gameplay and I will glady say I'm confident those things will be top notch just from seeing so little of the demo. I agree even more when you say its set in an interesting, unique and even more immersive setting. It isn't a bad thing and I don't want it to be, but its not my kind of thing.

I think my next comment will put things into better context. I didn't play all the way through Resident Evil 1 or 2 because I got scared lol. In resident Evil 2 when that dog busted through the window in the police station I said screw this and didn't touch it for 2 or 3 months. Got the nerve to give it a nother go and I think when I saw a licker (is that what its called?) I shut it off and neer played it again.

I would gladly watch perfectly done movies of resident evil 1 and 2 or bioshock cause I REALLY am interested, but I scare easy when it comes to games like this. I was even scared in the covenant ship when I went to rescue keyes in Halo 1 and I was scared while seeing that transmission on the helmet in Halo 1. But I eventually mustered up enough confidence and figured what am I afraid of? I don't think I could ever shake such a fear for the first 2 resident evil games or bioshock. I didn't try RE4 yet because I get scared lol and Resident Evil 5 as much as I want it I'm already shaking in my boots about what I'll see in the game. I'm a coward when it comes to these types of games haha.

You have no idea how scared I got when that thing was trying to bust through that minisub I was in to get at me lol. What prevented me from shutting the game off right then was the reassurance from the guy that he'd have my back :)

Dont feel too bad Op, lol, I havent touched the Silent Hill series for practically the exact same reasons. I can handle RE, but SH....I dont think i could take.

I prefer a creepy atmosphere to cheap scare thrills, and Bioshock seems to be delivering on that. RE games aren't even scary, never have been, they don't even have much of a creepy atmosphere anymore.

Hei grift, cut the man some slack. Listen, i have friends that can come up to me and say: "you see this album here, of Dream Theater? It has the greatest virtuosos of prog metal, the best guitar solos blablabla,......." but, no matter how much they praise it, it's just...not my thing (and yeah, i do know that they are good, for the genre). Simple as that. It's either your thing, or not.

I don't think I was being harsh, I just.. don't understand. And I don't think it's nearly that simple when we're talking about a videogame either. If inventive FPS are your thing (and on top of that, you like science fiction) then I actually don't get how the setting and atmosphere could be a turn off. That's all.

Compelling, single player, story driven experiences are his thing, by all accounts.. and Bioshock seems to do that just as well as anything else. Simple as that.

Actually.. I do get it.. sort of. I just think that no matter how you feel about what your enemies are wearing, it's hard to deny that Bioshock is turning into one of this years premier releases.. and I would think that anyone who could see that, would want to play it.

The fans have spoken. Concerning the graphics of the Halo 3 Beta: "There's so many little effects and things going on that make this game pretty much 2nd only to Gears at the moment."

Well, it says, "Mod your body with over 70 plasmids and gene tonics!"--so it may not be exactly 70 plasmids. But regardless, it seems like the level of customization is insane.. meaning, no two players are likely to have the same experience and probably more importantly, that there will be loads of replayability.
