It's quite a big deal for Warhammer fans, today is the release day of the first action title of the franchise developed by Relic, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. If you are into ork meat, no doubt this game will satisfy your blood thirst. Quite different from Gears of War gameplay-wise, Relic's title puts the emphasis on melee combat and battles against a high number of enemies. Guns are still useful though, but don't expect to see any type of cover system here. Space Marines don't hide after all. The soundtrack of the game is immersive and actors such as Tom Strong deliver a good performance. Here are two videos to convince you of the potential of Relic's title.

THQ has released three videos of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that put in motion the melee weapons (Chainsword, Power Axe and Thunder Hammer) of the game. The game will be out next Tuesday.

THQ's lineup is pretty much about sequels, with the crazy Saints Row: The Third, Metro: Last Light (as dark as the previous game) and the rough Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. Their booth was probably one of the most beautiful. An angel statue straight from Saints Row 2, a jet doubling as a lounge, and a Warhammer's cockpit containing the stand. While Space Marine was playable, Metro: Last Light and Saints Row 3 were not, as they've been shown behind closed doors.
