One can't say that the release of the PC version of Dead Island went unnoticed this week. For some odd reason, it seems a dev version was accidentally released and it took a few days for the game to be patched. It did not prevent players from complaining about the fact that it was merely just a console port, with no standard options like V-sync, anti-aliasing, etc. Using your Nvidia or ATI pannel can help fix such details, editing the game's video file but that's not particularly user friendly. Despite all this, the game is still a lot of fun and it is full of content. My biggest grudge is with the pop-up issues that feel completely outdated. Other than that, the game is clearly worth it to anyone who likes the survival horror genre. Here is a 1080p video in 60 fps (minus a few hiccups due to Fraps) to give you an idea of what to expect.

I really like the game too and I also think it looks great.
V-sync should have been in the game. I agree.
The perfect way to describe it is a mix between left 4 dead and borderland, once you get into it its deeper than it sounds.
It is a pretty rough game with some jarring technical issues, the plot is forgettable and the voice acting is cringeworthy, but all of these problems are more than compensated by the excellent gameplay and the fun quest structure.
Oh and game runs really nicely.
