GSY Review PC Xbox One

PC players will soon be able to discover Rise of the Tomb Raider but until then, the Xbox One version has been granted some more content with the release of the first story-driven DLC, Baba Yaga: Temple of the Witch. After completing it in less than two hours (and we were slow), we can say it is quite a disappointment, even at its price ($9.99/€9.99). While Crystal Dynamics could have pushed the hallucinogenic aspect of the DLC, there are actually very few WTF sequences (two actually). Also disappointing is the fact that the game forces you to backtrack to the Soviet Installation hub two times to loot some ingredients in an area we know by heart. The new story element isn't interesting either, with a particularly ridiculous ending (have your tissues ready). The main attraction of this DLC is the new area to explore with a new puzzle to solve, but it's not much.
Note: If you intend to play the DLC, just watch the first two videos.

Verdict

10 dollars for only two hours is a bit steep. I have yet to finish the game itself though. So i am not even going to worry about that.

i'd be more worried that it's 10 dollars for a disappointing 2 hours. are they planning any more story DLC? hopefully that turns out better. after all i need a reason to buy the PS4 complete edition.

The game itself is great, so that is already worth the price.

It's not really the point here, is it? The DLC is not worth the money they ask, and even considering the whole Season Pass, what has been released so far is average at the very best. It has to be said because it's a real shame we can't enjoy more quality content.

I heard it was 2-3 hours long but i was hoping it was more like Tlou left behind. This dlc seems lazy and should have been $5 at most imo. Such a shame because this is the only story dlc too, right?

i mean if the DLC is meaningless shite, then by the time the PS4 complete edition comes around at what will undoubtedly be full retail price, i may as well just buy the xbox version used for 5 quid. unless of course the visuals are better/no input lag/etc. but even then i think it's a sacrifice i'd take for the 30 quid saving.
