Video Xbox 360

Tommorrow morning at 5:01 CET exactly, you will discover our gameplay videos of the final version of Gears of War: Judgment, but until then, we can propose a gameplay video of the multiplayer demo of the game which will be made available on March 19 for every Xbox Live gold member. In OverRun, two teams of 5 people fight with the inclusion of classes for the first time ever in the series. Also nice is the possibility to play any of the Locusts you usually only find in single player. If, like us, you managed to try the demo in advance, feel free to share your feelings about the game in the comments. By the way, you don't need to mention how poor our skills are in this video, we know.

beast mode on gears 3 was kinda a let down. most species weren't efective on maps and it was so limited in the way theyhas so few rounds.

they introduced shortcuts wich is nice, i hope that i can have more fun now.

I've played some of the campaign and it doesn't feel like Gears should feel, at all (except the fact that the mecanics stays true to the original formula). The series have felt less and less like the original for each installation, and this is easily the worst step so far. People who love Gears will feel the subtles changes that makes the big difference. It's a shame... because this game didn't really have to be released in the first place, and also I guess the change of developer is also to blame. It's alot more chaotic (that wasn't what the original Gears was about, it was intimate and smart), doesn't have that meaty feeling, and the look isn't right. Played some Gears of War 3 yesterday just to refresh my memory and the difference in feeling and quality of presentation was staggering, it just felt much better and more true to the roots (and Gears 3 itself felt less Gears than the previous two).

It feels like Gears of War kinda died with the key persons who left Epic after Gears 3. :(

But it wouldn't surprise me if players and reviewers around the globe didn't notice this at all, because that's what people usually do - doesn't pay attention...

like you didn't payed attention as those keys elements were mostly suits, and the only the input was cliff b., that oversaw this game development since it was already being made 2 years ago with him on the control. funny thing, this isn't even his a epic game, so it isn't really a main gears game. your "Gears of War kinda died with the key persons who left Epic after Gears 3" is just plain fault logic. maybe when you play a Gears of War 4 made by Epic Again, then you try agan.

Gears of War was something special when the 1st one came out. Now that i'm about to sell or trade in my copy of Gears 3 I can happily say that I won't miss this franchise a bit.

The story arc had potential but the sequels were mishandled and badly written. It was a case of too many bad cooks in the kitchen. It was soaked in cliched high five moments and characters as flat as my HD screen. The cookie cutter scenarios and corridor shooting also lacked imagination and finesse.

The competitive multiplayer had its moments but the lack of gameplay consistency was ultimately its biggest downfall. The co-op modes were great though and I hope that's what it's best remembered for. Instead of this weak recycled crap that is Judgment i'll be pre-ordering the survival edition of The Last of Us.

This game feels really underreported for some reason. It's like everyone, fans and media, are collectively disinterested in this release.

It looks like action is more the emphasis here which for me is fine considering I like the combat as much as Halo. May even surprise for being an interesting tale. Of the series I like most the first 2 Gears games for their atmosphere and this does at least look a little darker than Gears3- I'm still unsure If I like that game

This will no doubt reduce in price fairly quickly and I'll certainly be getting it when it does

you clearly never played the campaigns

just cause they have muscles doesnt make them douches lol Gears 2 and 3 had scenes that were more dramatic then any other game i have ever played. actually made me feel something which not many games do that to me (Spec Ops the line was good at that too)

if you only watch those scenes then ofcourse you wont feel anything :| if you dont care about a movie thats supposed to be dramatic you can do the same thing

also the way they were done (especially the maria scene) was quality.

but you are a PS fanboy so i dont expect you to have even played the games. even if you did it was probably just so you could say you played em lol

Agree to disagree, they where shite, and that isn't based on out of context, single scene viewing, that's based on playing the entire series. The characters have no depth, so i find it impossible to care about them. Shoehorning "drama" into gears of war, is like trying to get arnie to do shakespeare...lol.

My favourite bit was when they introduced that spiritual character tai for the sole purpose of trying (and failing) to strike an emotional chord when he blows his own face off with a shotgun. They're some of the most ham fisted, poorly executed, unfitting attempts at drama i've seen in games. Gears would be better without them, then at least they could stop pretending to be more then what they are...dudebro shooters.

Did you copy-paste my Gears analysis from the last thread? ;)

I agree. The storytelling was fucking atrocious. But I think it could have been fixed with a more subtle approach. As subtle as Gears can be. It could have stayed over the top ridiculous and have an emotional core as well. Funny enough the character I cared most about, despite being the most ridiculous, was Cole. But seeing how they butchered Dom and handled whats-his-face (Tai?) that might have been an accident after all.
