Btw, who cares how good a cockpit looks? ur not gonna sit there and look at it anyway... It shud be there but all this hi res and very good looking cockpits is kinda silly to me. ppl even discuss it, what looks better in cockpit. Forza3 or NFS shit. Oo
They are so obsessed and focused about getting their games to "aww yeeeehhhh" look cool and appeal to some wannabe-gearhead 16-year-olds-pretending-to-be-streetracers crowd, with their entire BS about "respect" and shit like that..
If they spent all that PR/style effort on making a racing game for the sake of racing, they could very well create a masterpiece along with Forza, GT or PGR.
NFS isnt about racing anymore, its like MTV.

NFS history is interesting.
They had a seemingly realistic game in natural environments with the first one, then went arcade action after that.
Loss of realism and police chases became a large part of the series, then tuning and openworlds.
Now we have circuit racing, or whatever.
They haven't been consistent AT ALL, though a lot of people have [foolhartedly] come to think of NFS as the "go to" racing/cop chasing game, and I'm one of them.
This game better be one helluva ride because the lack of an open environment, cops, tuning.... I don't know, is this trying to be the next Daytona, or something?
I'd rather them stick to the cop chasing/open world theme and just get really good at that one formula, or stick to more realistic racing and keep at that until they get really good at that formula. But changing gears (pun intended) so often is keeping them from ever being able to polish up a certain idea.
I thought that the best game so far this gen was Most Wanted. Sure it was arcade as hell, but the cop chases and racing types were still a lot of fun for an arcade style of fun. But instead of keep that up, they just try something a little different every year and somehow get worse every year as well.
If Shift turns out good and does well in terms of sales, I just really hope they stick to this theme and really work on perfecting this style of game.
I will say though, that I usually don't enjoy arcade racers that much. Flatout, Burnout, Ridge Racer, none of those games appeal to me all that much, but the most wanted NFS game was actually pretty fun. So either do sim/arcade mix right or just go back to the open world genre and make that formula as good as possible.
The sounds are fantastic.
