GSY Video PC

Assetto Corsa is now fully available and since a DLC adding some new content (the iconic Nurburgring-Nordschleife and 10 new cars: lfa Romeo 4C, GTA and 155 Ti V6 ‘93, BMW M235i Race car, GM Corvette C7r GTE, McLaren P1 and F1 GTR, Mercedes-Benz 190E EVO II and C9, Nissan GT-R NISMO 2014 GTR) was released this week, we've captured a bunch of 1080p/60fps videos. Although the game obviously proposes less content than titles like Forza, GT or PCARS, it is by far the best sim to date. With the addition of mods and some most probably new content by the developers, there is still plenty of things to keep busy. Hopefully, night and weather will be added later, but until then, the game plays incredibly well with a wheel. Kudos to Kunos Simulazioni for making replays with realistic camera angles as it is not always the case in the other games of the genre. If you like car driving game, this is the one to go for.
Note: Videos were captured with a driving wheel, in pro mode (no assists) and with manual transmission.

I like the look of the game and hope it handles well. Haven't tried it.

But wtf is with the paper cut out people. It's just wrong.

Teraflops of power and that's all they do.

Maybe it's a tribute to Forza 5.

If you're concerned about the crowd graphics, then you're probably not the target audience.

However, in this day and age, i do feel that in a situation where a developer ''could'' use crappy crowd gfx, or use good ones--and probably fairly easily--that the developer should at least animate them, and make them 3d, even if low poly.

The game is a real simulator for adults. Gran Turismo is a simcade for teens.

Looks very good. Driftwood, as someone who has played Assetto Corsa and Project Cars, which one do you rate higher? I only need it for hot lapping on the Ring, need to get in some more practice laps for the next real life Track day on the Nordschleife coming up in a couple of months. So far I relied on Forza as a practice tool but since I've stopped playing consoles, I need one for PC.

In terms of driving, Assetto Corsa is ahead, at least for now considering Slightly Mad Studios' game isn't final yet. PCARS is too inconsistent to my liking. Some cars handle fine, others are just horrible. Same goes with performance.

Driftwood - would you agree however that AC is more for hardcore pc racers who like to mod their games, where as Pcars has a career but no real modding announced (as of yet?).

Personally i love the feel of the cars in AC, and the audio, but the lack of career or even development leads to a low replay-ability unless you are specifically testing certain cars.

Well, honestly, AC is not that hardcore in that it doesn't make driving impossible using its sim label to justify it. Most real pilots say that driving in games is often more difficult than in real life. AC is open to modding indeed, it doesn't have a lot of tracks or cars, so it's meant for hardcore players in that they have to like driving and not to mind the lack of variety. PCARS' handling is much more frustrating than AC's for now. Not sure if I'm clear. :)

The driving in Assetto Corsa is absolutely outstanding, you feel the control of the car in a level that Project Cars can not even dreaming. But this don´t make Project Cars a bad game, it is less "realistic".

This comment made me laugh:

"AC with green hell is the best at the moment. IRacing has too many arsholes with no life."

I guess iRacing still has the best, most dedicated community of sim fans.

Nice gfx, of what I have know from internet sims fans this is the among if not the best sim. Although you can never discount rfactor2. Sadly that games has bad gfx. At one point I thought of building a PC for this game
