After generously giving us the first DLC of Red Dead Redemption for free a few weeks ago, Rockstar is now talking business again with the announcement of 4 new packs that will be priced 800 Microsoft points ($9.99 on PS3) each. Unfortunately, nothing as exciting as what GTA IV's two big additional contents brought since it will simply be a way to add new multiplayer maps or characters (including Red Dead Revolver's hero), new game modes, new weapons, zombies, and, last but not least, the indispensable new achievements/trophies modern gaming now could not live without. The first pack will be released in early August and until then, you will find the first images inside.
As we failed to mention the content of the four packs when they were announced a little while ago, here they are now:
New active map locations, characters and more:
* Release date: beginning of August 2010;
* 9 new multiplayer map locations — more than doubling the amount of territories in the multiplayer competitive modes;
* 8 new multiplayer characters — play as characters from Red Dead Revolver;
* Introducing a new projectile weapon: the Tomahawk, with corresponding challenges for single-player and multiplayer gameplay;
* New achievements and trophies;
* Pricing: $9.99 (PlayStation Network), 800 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE).
New competitive modes, multiplayer mini-games in Free Roam, and more:
* Release date: TBC;
* Attack and Defend multiplayer competitive mode and challenges;
* New multiplayer horse races, complete with mounted combat;
* Play as the heroes and villains of Red Dead Redemption, as well as 8 additional multiplayer characters;
* Multiplayer versions of Liars Dice and Poker from the single-player game;
* Introducing a new weapon: the Explosive Rifle, with associated challenges available in single-player and multiplayer gameplay;
* New achievements and trophies;
* Pricing: $9.99 (PlayStation Network), 800 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE).
Delve deeper into the world of Red Dead Redemption with new modes, challenges and gang hideouts to discover:
* Release date: TBC;
* Additional Free Roam challenges;
* New action areas and defensive placements;

* Pricing: TBC.
Ghost towns and cemeteries come alive in a West gone horribly wrong:

I can't believe they support the multiplayer so much. It's not that good imo. But man, everyone wants easy money. In sp episode you must put so much work, while some mp skins, new maps are done for week or two. :(
Love this game so much, but will skip all this pointless stuff.
There is so much potential for new stories in the world with Jack or a different character that I am sure many people who loved the SP would enjoy, I am certain it would sell as well as this.
Its a shame but it looks like we will have to wait for RDR2 before any new SP stuff arrives, but I shall enjoy this stuff too.
