I thought this was fun, but I think I preferred Blur which kinda surprised me. Knowing that Blur has 4 player split screen is a massive pro to me also

Using obstacles to pin point opponents is never as fun as in Blur, or as exciting as smashing people to the rails on Burnout.

I'm with blur on this one, this can have the more impressive visuals and ammount of stuff happening but it isn't nearly as much fun to play with friends, thats a given.

Controls weren't as Burnouty as I'd hope... Good game, for 15€ or so...

After playing a couple races on the demo, I'm sad to say I'm not very impressed with the game at all. The graphics are nice but the explosions don't actually really add much fun and the core gameplay is also far too much like the older NFS games.

So far, in terms of demos, I had MUCH more fun playing blur than this game, which sucks b/c while Blur was pretty fun, it certainly wasn't anything nearly as fantastic as the PGR games all were.

bummer...

played the demo all yesterday, I wish it was a multiplayer demo the AI is so weak I got bored once I saw all the destruction. Graphics are very impressive

loved the demo, didnt give it any serious time, but the few races i had where all vastly different, either due to debris on the track or altering the track itself. saw that it was split screen too, so theres a good chance i might pick it up.

Played a couple more races today, what kills the potential so much is that the powerplays are in the same specific areas each lap so the game's formula becomes very clear and loses it's sense of anticipation. Once you know what to expect that course becomes far too predictable.

If it had MP (the AI is crap) or a better variety of tracks like the full game maybe there is hope, but from this demo alone I just can't seem to enjoy much.

My other biggest gripe is that the drifting feels like shit. taking corners that easily pretty much sucks all the fun out of taking hard corners

i loved the drifting, very burnout, easy and fun.

i kinda like that you can learn the tracks once you know where the key areas of attack are too. it isnt a random cluster fuck of explosions, you get to know that on a certain corner you can take a guy out, if it was too random i think it would loose a lot of it's appeal since it would be completely down to chance and ultimately, luck. for me the key to the game is knowing whether to spend my attack bar on an enemy then and there, or waiting untill that one corner which you know is a beast of a powerplay that can take out multiple opponents.

i love it.

you know what i keep thinking every time i play the demo? How it would make a perfect arcade cabinet game.. it's something that's fairy brainless, but flashy, and only really effective in small doses - the perfect game to breath life in the dieing arcades.

As for my views on the game.. they've not changed. It still feels too slow for me..especially compared to Blur. It's also still lacking in any sense of satisfaction of you being in control, or using evil cunning, behind all those flashy explosions and destruction. They may aswell be QTE prompts.

And either i'm too cool for skool, or the games set on it's easiest setting.. as i've yet to fail not coming first. So I agree with TheFuriousOne, it would of been nice to see the multi side.. see how it all comes together online, and actually experience those prompts timed against you - which has been all to rare in the demo.

Also, i think there may only be 12 "enviroments" in the game? i'm sure i read at the end of the demo something about 12 enviroments..offering i guess 27 tracks made out of them... weither thats counting the alternitive routes during races i dont know..
