Xbox 360

I've seen Crackdown running for the first time almost one year ago, and saw it quite a few times since then. And every single time I was surprised by how much the game had improved. This TGS is no exception, as you'll be able to see in this gigantic video.

Physics look really crappy. Is it running @ 60fps now or something? Looks sped up. Not sure about this one, but it's not showing me anything that says must buy.

WOW, they improved it very much technically. But there's still this incognita called gameplay that keeps me from being hyped. Is there really so much shooting going on on the streets or do the bullets fly because the player did something not shown in the video? Also the driver AI seems catastrophic. Or would the guys crashing into the players car near the end shoot him if they were outside a car?

I'm really loving the visual look and artsyle for this, gameplay seems like it would be pretty fun too. So can you actually make your own character or do they just have different looks for the main character for whatever region it gets released in?

I pulled it down from one of the direct downloads quicker than the torrent, I'm seeding it now.

I'm noticing the guy's white. Do you pick ethnicity, or does it have full fledged facial customization?

Thats awesome. It looks like they have gone so far with the localisation that the character is tailored to the region. Very Very Very good idea. I'm sick of playing american stereotypes. Good thing the developers are irish (it was irish right?

Visually looks superb. Find a game with higher draw distance, more on screen characters, and more general detail. Seriously.
So many things have improved enormously. There appears to be very nice shadowing effects now, the lights from cars headlights, etc, look really good now, the water, the physics look much better - They overdid the low gravity a bit much previously, but not it still has low gravity, but just the way things bounce look much better - Best example is the lamp post early on, that bounces superbly (programming proper bouncing of these types of objects is *really* hard)

This could well be a hit imo.

This game has fullcoop play aswell which could be real fun..

Draw distance is superb...ive got a feeling this could be a sleeper hit

They dirtied everything up quite a bit, makes it look a lot more lived in as opposed to a cartoon. Very impressive!

The game has a different name in Japan, they may have changed the main character aswell. Although I believe there are going to be different agents in the game (and available from the marketplace)

Good to here! Man... I didn't think even for a second (and I had some crazy expectations for both these games) that they'd actually come into TGS and be such a big hit with everyone. I figured japan would ignore them regardless, but that doesn't appear to be the case at all. It seems if microsoft provides the games they'll pay attention. The very thought that at the end of tgs the 360 could very be best of show is just insane in itself :D

That Tri-Ace rpg is looking better and better right about now since Microsoft now appears to have their undivided attention. Hopefully Square Enix responds to the positive press the 360 got during this show by showing it some love (unlikely I guess)

The amount of skating your character does is disgusting. I realize these kinds of games are "big," but would a little polish be too much to ask?

The first next-gen GTA game no doubt. But, moongravity on the ragdolls and quake1 animation (guy still runs forward while strafing and shooting)?

I guess the perfect game in this genre would bring the creator so much moolah that they'd become gods, and so the guy upstairs wont let them create such a game but will have them fumble with either crappy engines, PSOne gameplay or figure skating characters.

Three thumbs up to the programmers though. If this bombs, volition should hire them and get rid of the interns.
