Indie studio Red Barrels's promising survival horror game Outlast will be available on Steam on September 4 for $19.99. PlayStation 4 players will also be able to face what lies inside Mount Massive Asylum (at a later date) as the game was announced for Sony's console last month at E3.

anyway, visually looks pretty awful, but it looks intense as hell, like a next gen condemned. and it's a budget release with a budget price, hopefully it's on the PSN store come the PS4's release.

I have always wanted a horror game that rewards those who are immersed and explore while giving unique unscripted moments (catching something out of the corner of your eye and wondering what you just saw). Scripted has a tendency to kill horror games for me, as I feel like I am being prodded toward the scares. That is why Silent Hill was so great. Even though it was basically all scripted, it gave enough freedom to feel like I was in control and no just watching a movie. I have high hopes that this will be well worth the $20...
