World in Conflict announced

Vivendi today announced that Massive's World In Conflict is under development for Xbox 360, previously being known as a PC exclusive. The X360 version is being developed by Sierra's Swordfish Studios, and will be released this fall. First images inside.

Nice explosion effects. This game is really a looker, especially consdering this is a RTS. I might get this, as my PC can't run this, but I need some more details first. It might be a bit too hardcore for me...

Im have either very bad eyes, or the devs f**ked up, but what the hell is going on in this pic http://images.xboxyde.com/gallery/public/5643/1291...

The trees are on the ground or in the sky?? Is it an aerial or side on (look at the choppers). i think having 2D trees just really messes up the look.

uh they are on the ground, its snow and that is supposed to be ice covered water in the corner where the helicopters are. and i dont see whats wrong with the trees or the helicopters so yeah i think its safe to say that you have very bad eyes

Come on now guys, don't get all ultra-picky. This is a WIP and some of those still look rather nice for a RTS.

Also, this is being developed by the guys behind Gound Control, arguably the best looking Tactical Combat Game for its time.

really nice.
For the ones who haven't played the PC beta, this is looking to be the first console RTS game with good controls.

Reasons:
- You only have a small number of units. mostly 6 to 10
- You don't build buildings (at least not in the MP-beta, don't know about the SP)
- the Build menu could be easily controlled with the control-pad
- the camera and view works like most 3rd person shooter like Splinter Cell

all in all, it's much like Tom Clancy's EndWar
