Xbox 360

This DOA4 video from X05 is a bit different from usual since the two people playing the game are the current chief editor of the french official xbox magazine, and the old one. One more proof that being a good player is not a requirement for such a job :)

So far I've only heard that the enviroments are the only thing that sets this apart from the previous versions. I'll at least rent this, thanks Blim.

Yeah just the environments

And the bulk of the important gameplay mechanics

And the character models

And the online modes

But just those.

The character models? Not really. Clothes yes, the model itself I don't know...

Well the texture resolutions then! ;)

I think the models are probably a little more rounded but with the art style it isn't so easy to tell.

Jann-Lee's abs alone probably have as many polys as one of the Dreamcast characters!

Oh and La Mariposa's headscissors counters are beautifully animated!

I'm probably the only GUY who misses GUYS in this game. Sure, you've got a few to choose from, but really, I don't want to be the Dennis Rodman clone, the Bruce Lee clone, the fat biker or the Super Ninja Brothers. Ein was cool before they ruined him as Hayate, so in Ultimate that had me sorted. That leaves me with a grapple based army guy and an old martial arts guy.

Is a decent male character too much to ask for? All of the interesting styles belong to the jiggly women and I've never really liked playing female characters in beat 'em ups. I know it's a stupid remark, prolly, I should just adjust and jiggle around, but it does bother me a bit. Oh well.

True. For example I allways wanted to play a male character that has a Christie`s style(snake style i think). That would be neat.

I think Hayabusa is pretty okay, but his style is really weird. His flippy floppy fantasy style of spinning headstands and stuff doesn't quite appeal to me. Style wise I think Hakkyoko Ken is great, and that new chick Kokoro has that. I also technically love Jeet Kune Do, Jann Lee's style, but I wish he wouldn't scream like Bruce Lee. Somehow any video game character that does ends up a parody more than anything.

Eliot I'm reserving judgement about, I might just like playing as him. :)

>.> Wow, you people complain so much about this game.

I wonder if most of you have even played this game enough to at least know character's combos properly and the game's fighting mechanics.

Quite frankly I've played enough DOA to know that the game looks way better and some of this things in DOA4 could not be achievable on XBOX. The character's look much better than the Xbox versions of DOA3 and DOAU, since they have more detail and the clothing looks much better.

Lots of people say it doesn't look next game and it's just high res, but it's because Team Ninja wants to stick with their anime inspired art style for DOA and not be realistic like other fighting games and like Ninja Gaiden.

You can already see that the environments are great, plus this IS after all a first generation Xbox 360 game, so I'm sure in future DOAs and upcomingb Team Ninja games they will have even most stunning looking graphics.

Anyways,
Thanks Blim Blim and others for this video.

ZeroEx: I used to be a huge fighting game nut in general and I've got arcade sticks for pretty much every system imaginable. So yeah, I've played DOA extensively, but my gripe with it is that I don't find any of the guys particularly interesting to play either as characters or gameplay wise. The rewarding and fun styles seem reserved for the girls and I don't particularly like playing as girls in fighting games. Except Vanessa in Virtua Fighter, because she's enormously badass. :)

Hmm, from the first shot I'd say this is a fake, but these are scans from a magazin... perhaps they bought up the fake, but that makes me wonder... it looks so unnatural to see an armored (girl) to fight the other guys. I hope its not real!

I need a fighting game at launch, even if it is DOA :)

I think it looks pretty slick personally--perhaps not what I was hoping for out of Team Ninja but not bad for a first round effort either--especially when put next to other launch games.
