God this is going to be so awesome. I feel guilty for never buying the PS3 version -- but I'll make up for it in hours spent getting my ass kicked on the 360, I promise!

I feel like less of a fan for not having already owned it though. Bummer.

Weak in its lack of content and the REALLY easy AI setting, but the gameplay is awesome.

I stopped trying to get people who won't invest in VF to realise its depth around.. VF3, VF3tb somewhere. It's just not possible.

But anyway, the demo was very, very, VERY convincing. Even though I'm a fan of Virtua Fighter I wasn't gonna pick it up actually, because where I live right now I can't get a serious game going with anyone. The demo was just so fucking slick though, and Blaze was buckets of fun to play. The Live play is obviously more of a fun addition than anything that'll hold for a serious spin, but it'll do nicely for my current whereabouts. I just need a stick, pronto.

Alex Ward at Criterion says if a game doesn't grab you within 10 minutes it's not a good game. Those are the conditions games have to work with these days.

Okay. A well informed opinion I see, as usual. Go play something else then and please leave people who know well enough what a good fighting game is alone.

As for the 10 minute rule -- there is reason there but there is plenty of games that just.. show how wrong it is. A games accessability certainly has an effect on how good it may be.... but in this case it's almost like comparing Mozart to Britney Spears.

A more fitting response: lol.

Well I have to agree that the demo was weak, and it has put me off buying the game, perhaps I will rent it first.

The whole point of the demo is to demonstrate the game, so why they made it so easy is anyones guess.

The 10 minute rule doesn't apply to many games I play either, as most JRPGs are pretty crap for at least the first 2 hours. :P

Well it's definitly not for everyone.. and the demo was far too light and easy, but I still enjoyed it. I know there's a lot more to the final package so it's all good for me. I can see how it might not help broaden the audience like some demos do.

Just finished playing it a bit. Seems like it is going to be on my 360 a long time. Mainly played with El Blaze. Didn't have time to test online play yet.

Doesn't need to be, the online is awesome. I got the game today and I'm frankly stunned. Absolute tons more competent than DOA4.

That doesn't surprise me at all. I'm going to try to pick it up this week but I'm still away. This trip has also drained me quite a bit so I'm not sure if I'll be able to pick it up as soon as I get home or not.

I may need to sell a few games first.. I'd rather not get suckered in to making any trade-ins so I may miss out on this for a little while so I can pawn some games via half.com. I need money for Call of Duty soon too.. and that's just the start of the holiday flood.

I'm pretty rusty at the whole fighting game thing too.. been spending too much of my time on FPS.

Damn.. I'm already missing out on VF *again* :/

You're not the only on Grift :D SO MUCH is being released now and our pockets are just not deep enough. I want VF5 and I want to get Eternal Sonata, Orange Box, Bioshock and Halo 3 which I have yet to play. and then come november I have assassins creed and Mass effect. OH BLOODY HELL! just writing them down makes my head spin and not in a good way! :D
