I don't really see how the amount of chapters is a spoiler. Then again I didn't pay much attention to the story and the end confused me. Good game though. After this wait I was expecting better but oh well.

The birds and the fast guys both piss me off, they don't stay still long enough to target them.

A mini map with enemies positions would have been a nice addition, might have made it a bit too easy though and the suspense would have gone.

Sometimes the camera zooms out to let you know an enemy is behind and then other times you just get you head sawn off, doesn't seems to be any consistancy to it :s

Argh, the combat is becoming such a nuisance. The constant throwing of axes and spawning right behind you is such a pain in the ass! You get more than 6 dudes at the same time all constantly throwing stuff at you and it's just so annoying. I really can't play this game for more than half an hour at a time or so, because the combat is starting to really frustrate me.

They really need to rethink their strategy regarding combat for Alan Wake 2, it's just no fun anymore. All that is keep me from instantly getting rid of this game is the story, and that's not a good thing for a videogame...

I actually have no problem witht the combat. I am playing on hard, it's difficult yes but there are ways to work around it. It certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat that way.

Combat can be fraustrating, but now at chapter five, i have the hang of it and am now kicking ass :)

Delivery can seriously suck for my area sometimes. They have this terrible damn habit of not even coming up the stairs to my house, which is a private home, they simply sometimes just take a look at how far the door on my porch is pushed up and immediately decide to leave some slip stating they attempted delivery. Then there's sometimes a case where the delivery guys will literally steal your stuff if they know it's a game of some kind.

I think I was also among the last to get Splinter Cell Conviction and a few other titles, even though I pre-ordered it. Ended up calling credit card company to remove purchase from my card and I just went out and bought it myself :P I'm often times the last, but I always get them. :D

I actually already have Red Dead Redemption for the 360, went to the store to get that one, but I let my brother hold on to it in the meantime, since he wasn't satisfied with the ps3 version he picked up, and because I'm confident I won't be playing Red Dead anyway until I'm finished with Alan Wake.

In Alan Wake's case, I really must have that awesome Collector's Edition.

I kinda lost interest in this game I think it is because I know I wont be able to buy it right away,and the fact that RDR its on my mind always :)

But I think its a good strategy losing interest in the game in this particular time because that keeps me out of the threads of the game and so I dont get spoiled :)

I will buy it eventually thats for damn sure ;)

Playing on Hard here and dont have problems. invest time to understand the combat and you'll have a blast! it's meant to be realisitic hence the difficulty.

I'm playing on normal, and I would not go any lower. It feels perfectly fine. 90% of the time I have 20 batteries for my flashlight, and I never run out of ammo now (at the very beginning it was a bit of an issue).

I die at times, but it really is my fault, and not an annoyance. I'm on chapter 5, and I still don't think the combat has gotten old. The game keeps on bringing new bits and pieces to keep you interested. I also don't see what was the problem with the birds, not only do you find them very rarely, but when you do, they are easy to get rid of.

So in other words, I like this game more than when I started. The only thing I'm disappointed about is the facial animations, and the awkward driving mechanics (although they are unimportant it really doesn't matter). But I have to say the environments are simply remarkable, unbelievable.

My issue with the birds was that occasionally you would get that view that showed the direction they were coming from. But most of the time I would have no idea where to aim and as soon as I was struck by one group I would be disoriented and attacked by another.
