btw guys, for those of you are already playing the game (be damned to hell!), how is the hardcore mode?
I'm quite curious, as I value a lot friendly fire, which is turned off on the standard mode, also reduced amount of ammo to take down enemy, no hud?
Can someone make a quick review?

Also, where are those screenshots from the maps!? I'm dying to see them in detail (while I wait...)

I played a single match in Hardcore mode with TDM settings because of a bug (otherwise wouldn't have touched on it). It takes 1-2 bullets to kill someone, sniper seems to be a one hit kill with any sniper on the game, making all semi automatics obsolete. Anyway, it plays a lot like MW2, i.e. lots of camping, the long range weapons are overpowering. I don't know how it plays out in other modes, but I don't really want to find out. Part of the fun in BF is acquiring intel on the enemy, with HC on that aspect completely falls flat on its face, it always is a shoot out. Haven't tested FF.

The game has a screenshot function (press Back and Start at the same time). But I've no idea where the screens are uploaded to and it doesn't show up on the main menu. It's probably disabled until the servers run stable, which they don't, I can't find games for short periods of time.

What really pisses me off now is the controls. Why the hell are there only 2 different button layouts? It would be fine if they had the exact BC1 layouts but they don't have that either (it says it's BC1 but it's not). It took me ages to perfect my chopper flying skills in BC1 and now it's all for nothing because the controls suck ass. RB/RT for ascend/descend was the most ingenious control setting ever, one hand does the flying, the other does the shooting. /rant

Yes, every time your team drops below 10 tickets the horn starts until the game ends, can take 2 minutes or 15. It's a Conquest exclusive and it's very annoying.

I got a few assault rifles (no M416 yet :( and the red dot scope...runner up is 4x scope.

The game is AWESOME, hoever there is only 3 levels I like...in this order.

1. Snow level
2. Arica Harbor (it looks so photorealistic at times when you see soldiers running on the desert from a certain distance!)
3. Jungle level

That other one with boats, I hate that one, boring as hell.

Though, I havent been on that level with the annoying horn, what level is that?

Oh BTW, I got my code for the AK-74U, just now. Going to download it next time I start playing.

PS. They need to fix the Store, I want my maps.

So friggin annoying that I'm not unlocking anything! I can't even drop ammo crates or repair a tank and what not. Hell, it says I have zero hours played and zero kills. Grrr!

damn it sucks ass that they have FF only in hardcore mode. was really important in the previous game to be careful with what you were doing, sending artillery, shooting with heli etc not to kill friendlies.

oh, and on BC1 you could also make screenshots, and they'd be uploaded to your page (like, the EA bad company page, on the my soldier part). cool idea, yes, but the ridiculous part was you could only do 10 screenshots!!! L-O-L

It's a server setting on the PC version, but I don't know if you can run ranked servers with non-standard settings.

That really would be a bummer, anyway, since hardcore sounds kinda lame.. which is unsurprising because it's kinda lame in Call of Duty too.

That was already in BC1, conquest. Don't expect it to be patched out. But yes, it is a bit on the annoying side.

It's Atacama Desert, very nice map. Two choppers on opposite sides as well as to heavy tanks. Just played it, it's a blast but i never managed to rack up many kills on it... or seen anyone do it for that matter.

Has anyone had 1943 actually auto-detect on their veteran list? Do I have to actually play it again to get it to go?

Also: BC2 surpassed MW2 on Xfire today. Acknowledging that this is only a small sampling of more hardcore PC gamers, and that MW2 probably still has more total players, it's still pretty impressive. It's still lagging behind COD4/COD2, but as the game opens up to more territories (and I receive my copy!), I think that could change.

Hopefully it has more staying power than WAW or MW2.

LOL I love ALL maps on Conquest (i didnt know the modes had their own maps), though I love the urban desert maps :)

I unlocked a few vehicle perks, 4x scope, AUG and F2000 and two grenade launcher types.

This game is just awesome for sure, I love how intense it gets at times with helos, tanks, humvees...etc. the good old Battlefield.

I played from 11 o clock morning when I came back with the game and I just finished (its 9 o clock at night) lol, and I was just playing MP, fantastic time. I will probably head over to SP tomorrow before MP.

Wow, conquest is stupid. There's no ticket bleed. Flags are just for spawns.

I think it adds more strategy to the game. I mean do you go to get the flag and maybe die? Or just camp and get more victories but then you wont hear the horn.. Hmm though decisions.

Well, there's a lot of confusion on the subject, but I'm going to wait for a more clear explanation of how conquest works now before I get too upset.

I'm not sure why they had to change it at all though.. if they even have.. so much conflicting information out there.

I also had my 2nd lock up/crash happen today. Not really sure what causes it, but the game just once in a blue moon freezes.

Also what's with that glitchy pink thing at the opening sequences after booting the game?

Loading is a pain in the ass to get to the main menu.

It's a shame that ther's no way of saving custom kits. They should let you save a handful of configs, so you don't have to pick your gear every time you want to edit your loadout. It could at least save your previous loadout instead of reseting it to the default every time you join a server. It also upsets me that the euros have the game yet my copy still hasn't been delivered. Shame on you, DICE.

What's next? Fire the studio heads?
