It should. It's so principally wrong and broken in a MP game. It doesn't even matter if they're not top tier weapons and gear. Giving people exclusive content in a multiplayer game is outrageously offensive.

They did the same thing with BFBC2, it really shouldn't be that big of a surprise.
What? What exclusive content was there in pre-orders? Early unlocks don't count.

well yea you gotta a point there, all this exclusive pre-order dlc stuff is very annoying. I am betting all these pre order weapons and gadgets will be mostly worthless

BC2 had the M1 Garand and the thompson machine gun from BF1943 as unlockables for people who owned at least 4 Battlefield titles

Ah, right. I forgot about that. That's also lame. And sure, but if it's worthless than why have it muddle up the mix? This is supposed to be a balanced online competitive shooter. Not World of Fucking Warcraft.

yea I agree, but lets face it, Dice has never been known for balancing online multiplayer...

From the over powered destroyer & carrier combo in Battlefield 1942 to the indestructible jets in Battlefield 2....I think Bad Company 2 is probably the most balanced game they have released and this is mainly due to the homing dart gun

Let's hope they don't try the same robbery they did with BFBC2 where they release very few maps and put off "releasing" the rest for months at a time. Fucking idiotic. Basically waited till BFBC2 died out before unlocking shit that was already on the disc.
Also SPECTACT, what a joke.
Worst decisions ever made in any game, ever.


If they even try to lease BF3 like they did BC2, someone will be castrated.

I think the lighting model looks super. First Battlefield game that I'll be preordering. I'm impressed by what I've seen so far. Medal of Honor was a big letdown, but I believe in this title.

Someone sent digital foundry some 1080i off-the-air footage, which should be pretty damn high quality. If there are no others released soon, hopefully they post caps from that.

I was just playing Battlefield 1943 this morning on PS3, gosh I LOVE that game so much

I wish Dice would bring it over to the PC :( With 64 players...just like old times!!!

Overreact? Killzone 3 looks way better than this and it has a ton of effects going on. BF3 PS3 lacks any sort of effects that make the PC version POP...no miton blur, no depth of field, poor lighting....it looks ok for a port but that's about it

I prefer to turn off Motion Blur and DoF anyway, if it's available, which it probably won't be; there will be a brightness setting and a resolution scaler, ONLY.

I also hate motion blur and DOF. Depth of field is especially offensive, but motion blur is usually way overdone too.

Those effects are so beautiful to me! I wish Bad Company 2 had motion blur and the depth of field in Witcher 2 is to die for!!

well, I can appreciate them when applied properly.
What really sucks is when all the post processing is tied together, and you have to turn every piece of graphical trickery off in order to relieve yourself from just ONE annoyance.

I was kidding with the brightness and resolution, btw. I'm sure BF3 will be a fully featured PC game, so tweaking your performance shouldn't be a problem

DOF looks awesome in Witcher 2 but the motion blur is over done (Like in most games), i turned that off straight way. Motion blur should only be used in racing games imo.
