You actually can using hydra engine, but doesn't scale that well. In fact you could even have lesser perfomance tham with one card, so no don't do it. :P

6850 and 5850 are very close...

I have an unopened GTX 570 (Twin Frozr III) on my desk.. just waiting for the rest of my parts :D
Aaaand it's up and running. I haven't configured my overclocks yet. I think I'll work on that in the morning. I'm installing BC2 and the updater is taking *forever*.

After watching that tank battle video I am starting to think the single player campaign will actually turn out well...

probably better than Crysis 2 anyway

My GTX570 overclocks like a beast.. pretty nifty. I may still add the second one, but I'm not certain. I may wind up waiting until I can try this beta to see how necessary the extra performance is. BC2 is screaming along at 60-90fps with everything maxed out and loads of MSAA. I may be good until the next or next-next generation of GPU ships :D

You should v-sync it with triple buffering..solid 60 FPS FTW

Some observations:

-Autoclimb animation is pretty decent. Hopefully it's functionally sound.
-He's carrying an M16 and a rocket launcher--engis can carry assault weapons now?
-He's carrying an M4 or M16 as a medic--medics get assault weapons back?
-Stance changes are quick and fluid.
-The people playing blow.

It makes me wonder if they're not blurring the lines between classes (at least in respect to weapons) even more. I guess we'll have to wait and see :D

It all depends on dice optimizing this game. Take Crysis and Warhead for example the latter runs way better than the first

There was an interesting Q&A from DICE at the E3. In essence the assault class gets the medic kit, reasoning being that medics need to be on the frontline (wich actually brngs them closer to the BF2 medics). Medic class becomes the support class and receives the ammo pack, they usually stay back and provide suppressive fire with their LMGs (you get points for that, too even if you don't hit the enemy). Engineers stay unchanged from BC2. So do Recons.

I think this makes a whole lot more sense than what we had with BC2. They weren't talking about the finer nuances of the classes, though.

You sorta confused me for a minute by saying that medics were becoming support--they support already had an LMG and existed as a distinct class in previous games. That sounds almost exactly like 2142. That video clearly showed an engi wielding a rifle instead of an SMG though. They also could still be working out the kinks in the weapon and gear distribution. Sounds promising though.

Oh.. and a thing I forgot: grenades are equipable. No more hot grenade noob bullshit. ;)

I think I am going on a blackout for this game...I don't need to see anymore footage. I remember being BLOWN AWAY (big time) once I installed Battlefield 1942 on my PC and played the 64 player maps for the first time, it was AWESOME.

I want to be surprised by this when its released so no more trailers or analysis for me :)

They did the same thing with BFBC2, it really shouldn't be that big of a surprise.


Let's hope they don't try the same robbery they did with BFBC2 where they release very few maps and put off "releasing" the rest for months at a time. Fucking idiotic. Basically waited till BFBC2 died out before unlocking shit that was already on the disc.
