I'd definitely rather talk about the game. The only reason this is an issue, this time, is because someone can't let people talk about the differences between the PS3 debut and the PC footage without getting their feelings hurt.

If someone thought the PS3 version looked bad than something something PC fanboy.

i do hate how MS closes themselves off, i wish the gaming companys would mature.. imgine if in football england only played english teams, french only played french teams.. refusing to compete with each other... this is what this feels like

Seriously. It's a good compromise, I think. In BF2 I didn't mind, since you didn't technically die.. but it lead to some really inflated KDR's/egos :)

Yeah, nothing like wanting to change class or having no ammo left and getting revived by a well-meaning medic over and over, lol. Definitely good news. I'm actually up in the air on which control method I will use. I like the mouse precision, but aside from that I really do prefer a controller for movement/everything else. Movement won't be as involved as something like Crysis 2 so I may just be fine with the good 'ol M/k...

Analog movement would be the only debatable benefit of a gamepad for the genre, and really, it's not implemented in any real capacity in most console shooters. But if you prefer a pad, you prefer a pad. You can't argue with that. I can only say that I think that if some people bothered to get good w/ the kbm they'd never look back. Precision? How about reaction time. That's what you're really losing with the pad. And that's among the most important features for the PC version, for me. Hell, in a game like Battlefield, which isn't as squarely targeting "real" PC exclusive features (the way that BF2 did, or RO2 will), input and graphics (and player count) are about the only differences left.

I hope the revive thing is pretty seemless. I'd like revives to function the same on the medics end, but hopefully there's just some toggle that prevents you from getting a res.

Really? That's cool. The more I play BC2 the more aggravating the bad gameplay choices they made come through. With just two guys, wiping out another team that knows what it's doing becomes nigh impossible, they'll just all spawn on the one who's made it out alive. Only being able to spawn on the leader should eliminate that problem.

That's an issue I think has its roots in Battlefield 2. BF2 only allowed you to spawn on a squad leader, but (unlike BF3) it didn't give the squad leader the option of respawning on a squadmate. However, you could still leave and rejoin your squad, or hop to another. This lead to some pretty heavy handed squad hopping tactics, which I actually enjoyed, but mostly because I played the game in a league and on a ladder. Somewhere along the line, DICE decided this was an issue, and implemented a fix where you could not spawn on a new squad that you joined while dead. They of course threw all of these concepts out the window in favor of a completely open squad system in BC2.

I'm not sure either solution was anymore right than the other. The problem I have with Battlefield 2 is that DICE bent to the will of the pub community over and over, which presented all sorts of issues for organized play. I do not like it when a game literally becomes a different thing all together a few patches down the line. BF2 1.0 is an entirely different (and imo, better, especially since they never fixed several big-time bugs anyway) beast than 1.5. I want them to make some solid decisions and fucking stick to them. I don't mind balance tweaks and bug fixes but don't fuck with the fundamentals. Severe (and hackish) changes to movement and squad play were just too much.

The squad spawn system and revive decline thing seem like systems from BF2 and Bad Company are meeting somewhere in the middle. I think that could work.

oook but that would take to long with the ps3browser because youtube dont work right with the ps3browser :( and i do almost everything with the ps3browser. ps3youtube is great for ps3 user because you can watch videos there in hd and you can even download them :) and dont worry about the bitching, i can take it ;)

Alright Grift, I've got a question for you-

I just got the BF2 Complete edition, and it crashes to desktop whenever I try to start a game. I've got a 64 bit system, and I read that there are a lot of issues with it working on 64-bit platforms. Any pointers would be appreciated...

@Phaethon360 i will post links from this site and you cant stop me. if your scared that it can damagd your pc dont click on it. if you use a side created for the ps3 with a pc its not my problem. just look the links with the ps3browser and everything is good.
