Finally a patch, great.. To bad it didn't fix the crashing of battlefield3.exe for me at all, GG EA/DICE!!

Yea, same here, still took several attempts to get into a game. Squad changes and balance...great. Big the elephant in the room is still there a month after release, not good enough.
I thought having their own platform etc would let them fix these issues a LOT quicker. The exe crashing is critical to the game being fun, it lasting a week is BAD, it lasting even after the first MAJOR patch is TERRIBLE.

Does this happen to ya a lot? Is it on initial join? Punk Buster Services crashes for me on initial joins sometimes, but after that it's usually smooth sailing. I'm bummed that I haven't had a chance to test this patch yet. I've been really anxiously anticipating it, but I was soo damn busy earlier and now I'm just beat. I might still give it a whirl for a few rounds. Time to see if I can do snap movements and 180's without the game decelerating my mouse!

Most crashes happen on the 1st join yes.. Any idea's what causes that?

EA/DICE probably don't know either (yet), or else they would have fixed it you would think..

I almost feel bad for people because the one technical issues I had (mouse) is now working much better. My brother is raging because you still can't bind Q.

Why shouldn't he be? Not everyone uses WASD. PC games have customizable controls. The issues surrounding the Q key may not affect us all, but it makes the game unplayable for some. This was a "real PC game." That's not exactly a tall request.

It's not just making him uncomfortable, it's making him not able to enjoy the game period. When you've been playing FPS for two decades with a certain control scheme it's got to suck when someone tries to take away those options. Would you be happy if someone moved your d-pad to a foreign location? Try to remember that when a lot of us started playing FPS there were no standard controls period.

But then again, some people thought the mouse smoothing bug wasn't a big deal.

Lame. My server is set with fast vehicle respawn time for people to learn to fly, so EA won't show it in the server browser anymore. Guess I'm just going to have another run of the mill basic server then. Wish they'd decided to announce all this before I renewed.

Okay. I don't get it.. or maybe it's just you. PC gamers understand that standard keys (especially those around the left hand) are usually something you can customize.

The problem is that the Q key used for spotting is now the useless communication panel. Hold it down for a micro second too long and you will unzoom and open that panel up. Very annoying when you're prone with a bipod and trying to make sure people spot the sniper you're trying to suppress.

I don't understand why you have a problem with the rose. I mean, it's terrible. I think they should take it out of the game because it's useless. Asking for ammo doesn't even spam the giant chatbox! It should be more obnoxious so maybe people will actually take notice. The fact that you need to hold doesn't help either--in BF2 it was instant. But you don't want to use it? Stop holding Q. Lern to presa a button dood!!11one.

Ahh.. I played the crap out of this tonight for the first time in forever. It still rules, and now it has mouse input that actually works!

I am still not too keen on a bunch of stuff, but I just love the core mechanics in this game. This is the best infantry combat in any Battlefield game period. Good enough that it still shines through some occasionally shady netcode and launch version that didn't work with gaming mice heh..

It sure has the best infantry gameplay of any BF game, I agree.. I even play some Squad DM sometimes which is nice to rank up quick kills on a weapon.. What I do not understand though is why they have 1-2 vehicles in that gamemode?? DM should be without vehicles, if only 1 team has one it's completly unfair and it has nothing to do with pure DM..

But conquest is the only true BF gamemode anyway..

New update (PC) coming December 6th.. 2GB size because it contains most of the Strike at Karkand addon content.. Some very good fixes and balance changes in it imho.. IRNV nerfed, Stingers buffed etc.. and a network interpolation setting.. etc etc.. BF3 is getting better and better..

Yea the infantry combat is great but everything else has taken a back seat. The vehicular combat sucks and the sense of exploration/stealth has been eliminated.

I loved swimming to the enemy carrier in Battlefield 1942, sabotaging the deck and planes with landmines & expacks and evading the enemy. It was really awesome and added more fun gameplay choices. Now everything has been dialled back...naval combat is non existent, exploration and sneaking all suck.

Battlefield 1942 was such a great game, way ahead of its time. I would love a full BF1942 remake with this engine

oh and the Rush maps in this game suck ass, I can't believe I uninstalled Bad Company 2. I want to reinstall it so bad but the large 2 gb patches are keeping me from installing it again.

Oh and the destruction in this game SUCKS

My thoughts exactly. After spending over 120hrs on bf3 I like it less then before. Bad Company1/2 were perfect with awesome destrucion and perfect maps for Rush. Hopefully new BC will get released one day on next gens :D

I actually had fun playing Rush on some of the Bad Company 2 maps. I certainly cannot say the same for BF3. The combat is ok, but holy shit the maps are just a wreck.

Yes. I'm not entirely sure this team knows what the hell they're doing content wise, or have even played the prior games in the series. There is so much that is just non-existent. I haven't played in over a week, I'm really hoping the karkand gives me some of that inspiration to play it.
