Yea I understand what your saying and my fault to everyone else for sidetracking the thread, but man very awesome E3. We are seeing what these consoles can do!

Also how cool was it when that guy in the COD4 thread started to pull over the barbwire to block off that part of the road? Scripted stuff like that makes everything seem that much more immersive.

Without ruining all that the game has to offer let me just say that the experience of watching, not even playing, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is as good as any major Hollywood film. It’s really that impressive. Everything from the graphics to the audio is enough to make you feel as though you are there taking part in a live battle. The environment is filled with action, from other soldiers fighting it out to the helicopters in the sky lending assistance. Smoke trails scatter the landscape, creating their own unique mixture of visual and atmospheric effects. The surround sound helps bring everything to life, giving you the impression that bullets really are passing near your head. The character animations are probably among the best we can recall. Everything including their movement and facial expressions is so well done at times we actually forgot we were watching a video game being played and not watching a movie.

Cool video too, although the quality was pretty terrible.

One thing I noticed -- you have a reticle while you're walking -- you don't in Call of Duty 2. At least not with rifles, I'm actually drawing a blank on other weapons, since that's basically all I use.

Multiplayer Perk #4: SLEIGHT OF HAND
This week's perk is pretty cut and dry. As you can see in the video, Sleight of Hand allows for faster reloads. This means you can put the enemies down, reload quicker, and get back into the fight faster. This perk is ideal for the heavy machine gunners, such as the M60 shown in the video or an M249 SAW gunner due to the normally long reload times of changing out ammo drums. Although when it comes to an intense fire fight, a faster reload time comes in handy with just about any weapon you use because every second counts.

The class customization and the techniques to differentiate them along with perks is sound like amazing fun, allowing gamers to really tailor their player to their taste and style. Totally digging this for online MP.

This and TF2 seem to be implimenting deep and diverse team/class based combat. Major kudos.

I'm glad they've put this much effort and attention into multiplayer. I've always enjoyed COD2's MP -- but never on its default settings. I almost exclusively play "rifles only" which is a server side mod.. and it's great fun and good practice.. but the default game I find a little less balanced and just not as engaging.

Sorta drifting away from that issue, I love the way they handle mods. So many things can be handled server side and that's a fantastic way to do things. Modded servers show up in the main server list in the in game browser, and there's no need to turn on/off mods in order to play them, like in BF2.. hopefully they'll hold with tradition here in part 3.. er.. 4!

That's a pretty astounding difference, but I suppose it has to be if they expect you to use it in a custom kit w/ the other advantages they've already displayed. I wonder just how many perks there will be.

Well, this confirms something I was pretty sure of last week: MP is using a different rendering engine, or in the least, the levels they keep showing are lacking the graphical polish of the SP at this point. It looks more muddy and lacking the same amount of depth as the SP. Very flat--and not just due to low contrast. Some of the outdoor SP parts look vibrant and deep even with a limited color pallete, these, especially building walls and such, look very mundane.

Agree Acert but i suppose we should not be to suprised its taken a hit for mp i mean most games have lost some sort of graphical touch from SP to MP.

This once again really bums me out... the downgrade from single player to multiplayer is something I didn't expect this gen. I guess internet speeds aren't fast enough on avg. to support the higher end looks. As much time as I spend onlne vs single player this is a complete bummer this gen. Would this be neutralized through use of procedural textures like mentioned in other threads? Still hyped for this game, just knocked down a couple of pegs.
