Like Plumb says, cheat your way to better graphics to get better perfomance.

And if you want, try out Game Booster, it definitely will increase your performance, mine did.
Went from High to Very High, especially with HDR which is nasty on Crysis. And I got from 25-30fps to +30fps.

For me, my life saver for any game now to have high graphics and great performance is Game Booster. Shuts down any non-crucial program to make your PC running in the background to give you more CPU memory with click of a button and with Power Mode available, you will definitely experience the difference.
Then you can simply with click of a button return back to normal.

I suggest you try it out, its a free download thing (unless you want to go Premium).

Argh...so frustrating. So somehow, the option for 1920x1080 showed up in the list, which is great, but then I downloaded the v1.2 patch which subsequently removed that resolution for whatever goddamn reason.

Maybe you should sacrifice some graphical options, take away some stuff that isnt super important.

Shadow could be on medium for example, motion blur on medium, volumetric could be on high, post processing on high...etc.
Just keep important stuff that makes Crysis look good on high/very high such as textures, object setting, shaders, particle effects.

Remove AA and v-synch unless you are super picky about it, but yeah.
I have a 4890 (i think, or is it a 4870 LOL) and I remove some settings that I didnt give a damn and didnt do much difference or just lowered them to medium/high while the rest on max without AA and vsync just to increase my performance.

Play around with the settings, and get the best out of it LOL Good luck!

I played BC2, seen some BF2 videos long time ago, its just boring!
If you dont understand what I want in shooters then you dont know me, I thought it was obvious by now. So no, I am not wrong, a personal preference is never wrong.

That being said, people with retail copies of the PS3 version is saying the MP looks and runs better than the demo (which I thought as much).

Man, I'm not even annoyed with the performance now. I'm pissed that after patching to 1.2, the option for 1920x1080 has disappeared(also, Crysis only seems to launch in windowed mode).

Ehm no, you either like realistic warfare based shooters and everything based around it, or you dont.
I dont like it, so I think its boring. You should know by now I like sci-fi in my shooters and armor abilities, or abilities with a sci fi twist.

As for windowed mode, have you tried CTRL+Enter? That will go into full screen mode.

I'm thinking about upgrading soon (was going to wait until the end of year, now considering 6950 crossfire + i7 2600k as a means of future proofing instead), maybe I'll give it another go at full bore when I do.

Yeah, I think I use alt+enter to switch to full screen. It's just annoying, especially considering that prior to my reformat, I didn't have that issue or the resolution issue.

They're $275 each (+ a $20 rebate per card) right now, but I'm not going to be ready to do this for at least a month, so I'm not really making any final decisions yet. 560ti SLI is tempting too, which is slightly cheaper, but the 6950's seem to scale better w/ more than one GPU, and they have bigger framebuffers.

I'll tell you how they do it, Mods. There are some amazing mods for that game that make it run like a dream.

I took comparison shots of PS3 and 360 from youtube, both being 720p quality.

You can see the "circle" images, PS3 is more stretched to the sides than on 360, hence why the display icons look is also stretched.
Then on the Ceph alien image, you can clearly see how the quality is blurry on PS3 while on 360 its clear. I seriously can't look on the PS3 version more than 5 minutes, just annoys me the hell out, kind of like watching without any glasses for me.
While on 360, its clear, fuck Crytek for their lazyness on PS3, they just came to my "blacklist" as "Bad devs for porting PS3 versions.

Sticking with PC version :)

Some people get annoyed by this, I do because it feels like I dont have glasses on.

But whatever, Crytek was simply lazy on the PS3 version, simple as that.

my MAIN problem, with PS3 is the damn resolution.
You can clearly see the Ps3 is quite blurry compared to the sharpness on 360, very annoying tbh.
You will know the difference because it looks a tad blurry and not sharp.
pathethic excuse or non at all, for having the PS3 have 1024x720 resolution, its bullshit if you ask me.
Basically, resolution is the issue for the blurry mess on PS3, and Crytek should do something about that if its possible.

the blur is mostly down to the lower res textures, a limitation of having less avaliable memory. assuming the game is 1024×720, then the screen resolution isnt helping, but it has less then 100 pixels difference compared to the 360 version. i mean, you played ninja gaiden 2 on the 360 didnt you? that game was 585p, which is lower res then crysis 2? was it such a huge problem playing through that? hell, did you even notice?
